The room is too old, lots of marks on the walls, chipped floor boards, fridge and microwave both not working, bathrooms are mouldy and the room smells like durian mixed with air fresheners, strong odours making my kids uncomfortable. Pool is under maintenance during our stay, construction outside very noisy. To summarise, everything that you would expect to meet the acceptable standard did not meet.

The hotel was blackout for 2 hours and I have to shower in the dark. After I requested a torch light, the helpful staff was quick in response. Breakfast was below average. Overall, I would expect a better stay after pay for almost RM300 a night.

Not sure if Mercure is a 4 star hotel, I stayed for 4 nights and wouldn’t say my stay was horrible but would say it was great either! Room itself seems outdated and some of the Lino on the floor was started to peel, bathroom is open style that is very unusual for a hotel room, if you are traveling with a friend it has no privacy! Great location, you are only a few minutes walk from a lot of the main areas, so that’s a big plus, also staff friendly and attentive, breakfast ok, not a not of western food options but ok if majority of there clientele are from Asia. During my stay pool closed for all 4 days that I was at hotel, roof top restaurant had a few items of the menu and couldn’t do some of the cocktails on the menu, so I never went back, 4 star hotel shouldn’t have listed items on a menu not available? For the location and price not a bad hotel to stay out, just don’t expect a WOW factor with your stay.
