Just got back from a lovely 2-night, 3-day staycation at Grand Mercure Mysore, and I can honestly say—it was exactly the pause I needed. From the moment we checked in, the hospitality stood out. The staff was warm, welcoming, and super attentive without being intrusive. The check-in process was smooth, and our room was ready even though we arrived a bit earlier than expected—a much-needed win after the drive. Our room was spacious, clean, and tastefully done with a mix of modern and traditional touches. The bed was super comfortable, and the little touches—like Mysore sandalwood-scented toiletries and a personalized welcome note—really made it feel special. Breakfast deserves a special mention. It was lavish! From fresh South Indian dosas and filter coffee to continental spreads and live counters, every morning started with a mini food fest. We also had dinner at their rooftop restaurant By the Blue, and the ambiance there was magical—especially with the Chamundi Hills in the backdrop. What I loved most? The location. The hotel is right in the heart of the city but still feels calm and away from the chaos. We explored Mysore Palace, St. Philomena’s Church, and took a quick trip to Chamundi Hills—all easily accessible. The hotel also has a small but clean pool and a decent fitness center, which we made time for. The in-room dining was prompt and the staff ensured our stay was seamless. It’s not just a hotel—it’s an experience that blends local culture with comfort. Perfect for a family staycation, a couple’s getaway, or even a solo self-care trip. Would I return? 100% yes. And next time, I’m staying longer!

Spoke with Mr. Kiran from reservations and requested for some special welcome as we were travelling for my seven year old son’s birthday. Had in fact agreed to incur additional charges as well if there were any for a basic decoration and a small piece of cake. I was promised this will be done. No such welcome was arranged, upon checkin highlighted this to the staff at reception. Despite this no one made any effort at all. I was told we will check with Mr Kiran tomorrow as he has left for the day. All in all, a very disappointing stay; not coming back to this property.
