My friend and I recently enjoyed a wonderful two-night stay at this fantastic hotel perfectly located in the very heart of Taiping town with easy access to anywhere and a handy internal door in the lobby connected to the next door mall. The room was spotlessly clean, beautifully furnished and exceeded international expectations, with a magnificent view of the lake gardens and surrounding hills. The rainforest shower was a powerful, satisfying and refreshing start to the day. All the staff were unfailingly friendly, attentive and courteous - our particular thanks to the front-desk lady upon checkout who kindly provided us with a ticket print-out for our ongoing journey. We were particularly impressed with the food: both the breakfast buffet and lunch/dinner menu were outstanding in quality and variety. It was a great pleasure to meet the manager in the restaurant on our last morning and pass on our justified and well-deserved compliments. We will certainly be returning to this Novotel in the future.

I like this hotel even there are some hotels nearest to Taiping Lake Garden. I choose this hotel because of its location. It is connecting to Taiping Mall, and cross the road is Taiping Hawkers Centre. 10-15mim walk to the famous Lake Garden. Hotel is clean, hot water and air conditioning is functioning well. But TV’s programs are limited.

27 Jul updated review: Received a comment from the General Manager James Chan on my previous review. This is an update to my 21 Jul review after my second visit here on 27 Jul. Met the front desk Mr Fahmi and the check in was very pleasant and friendly. Kudos to this. I really enjoy my stay at Novotel and hope that the good service will be continued and improved. Thanks. 21 Jul review comments The good: 1. The food was really good, order twice room service and it was exceptional. 2. Housekeeping and restaurant staff was very friendly and nice. They should be given a nice raise. 3. Nice location 4. Room was nice. The bad: 1. Terrible front desk staff which is a shame as they are the first person you meet when you check in. It is not only 1 staff, it was a few. Are they not compensated enough? A simple smile and friendliness goes a long way. Long wait at the reception as well. 2. Pool looks like it was not scrubbed in a while. Pool wall and floor are dirty. Guest are allowed into the pool even without proper attire even though there are signs showing the rules. Really hope the front desk will have better people there. Hope that management look into it .

The hotel is reasonably sized and cozy. Level 12 provides an excellent view of Taiping Lake. Enjoy the nightlife scene surrounding the lake and food court. Breakfast is satisfactory, with nasi lemak and good coffee. The hotel staff is friendly, especially the bellman, who explained the hotel's facilities and reminded guests about safety. This hotel provided a wonderful experience and was conveniently located near the next shopping mall.

Stayed here for a couple of nights. Great location, walkable to everywhere in town. Very comfortable bed. Pillows very good. Had a great night's sleep. Wifi was ok. Staff very good. Doorman explained the parking as soon as we got there. Front Desk staff validated the parking tickets for us each day. Always service with a smile. Didn't get to try the restaurants or bar. Pool looked good but didn't get in. Shower is excellent. I'd stay here again.
