We had great expectations after reading previous reviews however it didn’t quite live up to those. The room was clean with a great view as we paid for a ‘River View’, however after having a shower the smell that came from the drain was awful. This was late at night so we couldn’t report it until check out as there were no opening windows we were unable to ventilate the room, other than keep the sliding bathroom door closed but the smell still came through. We had breakfast with our stay however again it wasn’t the best we have had in previous hotels, the hash browns were very soggy and bacon a little greasy. One thing we cannot fault with out stay is the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, they’re absolutely fantastic.

Fantastic location if you want the arena and docks and, Liverpool One shopping. Our room overlooked the Mersey and we could see the Liver Birds in the distance. Breakfast had a great choice of both hot and cold food. Service was good with friendly and helpful staff.

Only stopped for one night as was going to a show on sunday evening. Found the staff were very welcoming and friendly though did have to wait over an hour for a table in the restaurant the food was very nice. Room was comfortable with a good view over the the docks

Stayed in the executive suite. Lovely room but a little dusty in areas... especially coffee pods and makeup room. Breakfast staff not very attentive, I was told someone would bring coffee but none arrived so had to go and ask.

We visited Liverpool for a concert at the M&S Arena and this hotel is ideally situated for the venue. The room was very comfortable, my only small niggle is the lighting was almost too subtle, I could not find a decent light to do my makeup. Very good range of food at breakfast

Overall experience was excellent with the exception of the first evenings visit to the restaurant. We were shown to our table and ordered drinks and given our menus. We were hungry after being out all day, and one of our party is an extremely fussy eater. Having made our choices we were then informed that a number of key items were not available and this information had been made available to the staff prior to service commencing at 5pm. So to find this out after ordering drinks and already being seated was extremely disappointing. We had to then set about trying to find somewhere else to eat on our first evening but more annoying was the fact that the waiter who was going to take our order laughed and seemed to think it funny that our fussy eater was unable to find anything else appropriate on the menu. We had previously discussed as a group that we would be more than happy to eat at the hotel each evening and be able to relax with drinks after what we’re going to be busy days. Due to this experience on our first night, we did not utilise the hotel restaurant and bar on an evening, choosing to stay out and eat around the city. We could not fault the reception staff or the breakfast service team, both were excellent. The first evening certainly tainted the initial view of the hotel.
