Pullman Baotou

This is the first time I stayed in this hotel in Baotou , my experience was more than beautiful. Not only is the staff very friendly and helpful, even the restaurant chefs are so kind. With my special need of food , chefs at dinner buffet and breakfast buffet made extra efforts to make my experience memorable. I recommend this hotel for everyone traveling to Baotou

I have now stayed several times a Pullman and service is good and they have a high standard breakfast from a european point of view compared to most hotels in China. They have a good Cantonese style restaurant but they fail 100% on their attempt to have a westernstyle restaurant. I ordered Traditional Goose liver (foie gras) but received sove kind of liver paste and I still doubt there was any goose liver used and if then max 10-15% and I send it back. The girl who opened my wine mannaged to brake the cork into two "big" pcs and several small and was very surprises when I asked for a new bottle. My rib eye was supposed to be grilled ARG steak but for sure it has not been near a open fire and I doubt the origins of the meat. So dear traveller go and stay at Pullman but stay away from the western "style" restaurant. And by the way there is countless good restaurants in the naibourhood who serve excellent food. I just felt for a good steak after several days with traditional good Chinese food. Been in China for 12 years so should know to stay away from it unless you are in SH and willing to pay 500 RMB for a steak.

I visited this hotel for four days on business. A few colleagues were also staying. It has some elegant touches and a lot of potential. I gather it is only 6 months old. So early days. The majority of reception staff are quite good with English but others struggle a little. My room was lovely - spacious, elegantly designed with all facilities, tea, coffee, large screen TV, decent wardrobes, ironing board etc. Good air con, safe, fridge, wonderfully large and comfortable beds with good linen. The bathroom is elegant with a beautiful free standing bath, nice areas to wash etc, separate toilet, shower. Floor to ceiling windows. Speaker in bathroom too. Make up mirror (not lit but good enough). Not enough information about services, resources. Great swimming pool - although both sauna and steam room were not on, enormous gym well kitted out and great window views. Great restaurants - especially the Silk Pavilion - good food and elegantly designed (separate review). Good spa. There were a lot of staff, but not all fully deployed as yet. I went to the toilets outside the main restaurant only to find a half cigarette extinguished in the loo, no paper towels or hand drying facilities. Wake up calls - really make sure they clearly understand your English - I had a call booked for 6am that didn't happen until 7am. They have a good chaffeur service to the airport too. Plenty of parking and nice and quiet at this hotel. Also plenty of good areas to relax outside your bedroom. This is one to watch.
