Good location for Metro and extensive bus routes. Very passable local restaurants and bars near by. A swimming beach was a 15 minute walk or bus ride. Hotel staff always very helpful and their English was far better than my Portuguese. Room (702) was spacious but could do with an electric kettle for tea making instead of room service having to run up and down with flasks of hot water. All in all a pleasant stay at an acceptable price.

Great Team. All personnel have genuine smiles and greet you warmly from the parking area to the reception. Room 901 the suite is big and spacious. Cleaning ladies attentive. Breakfast menu needs spicing up and room service menu requires a bit more products. Area is safe at night. may restaurants and fast food chains. Botafogo beach is not fit for swimming as it is mainly a harbor for small boats. Praia de Botafogo shopping mall is nearby. Metro station and main bus station nearby. Accor booking makes rooms available even though they do not show up as available on expedia and other websites especially during carnival and new year's time. so book from there if you really need a room. Furniture needs a bit of upgrade.

This hotel has very nice location which is surrounded with many local restaurants. It is very convenient to walk to the big shopping mall. The beautiful hiking route along the coast around sugarloaf mountain in urca area is only few steps away. I like the nice cosy swimming pool. The safety guard be the pool provided very warm and nice service. It is very good to relax after a day of hiking. The hotel is very clean everywhere. Breakfast provides what you need. Front desk staff are very professional and helpful. I would strongly recommend this place if you would like to explore this area in Rio.

I have stayed numerous times before and keep coming back, so that should tell you how much I like this hotel. The only slight negative this time is that I was assigned a pool facing room and would have preferred a room facing the statue of Christ. But I had made the booking fairly last minute and also arrived late in the evening. I was told I could change the next day. I reminded the front desk staff the next day and was told I should wait in my room for a call. No call came and the particular staff member had left when I went downstairs. I ended up just staying in my allocated room. Not a huge problem but since I had made them aware that it would mean a lot for me to change and it was able to be accommodated I would have hoped for a little more effort to effect the change.

I had to sleep in a improvised bed that basically was 2 single beds together trying to be king one. Even considering the beds were fixed there was a canyon in the middle. As a result of that, my back hurts until today. In addition, there was a fixed noisy air conditioning on the wall. To be honest with you I'm pretty sure that the main objective of this equipment it to make noisy instead of cooling the temperature.
