Our stay was incredible. We were surprised by the room (906), by its enormous size (almost too big! haha!) and its beautiful view of Cristo Redentor. I honestly had no idea we'd be treated to a view like that. Our room was cleaned to perfection every day. We also loved the breakfast (always my most-anticipated part of staying at a hotel) and the breakfast staff were so attentive (especially Marcia--what a wonderful woman!).

The hotel is well located, room is comfortable and spacious! There Is a swimming pool, nice! Internet works properly! Area of breakfast it’s good. The only point is the room service! You always have to ask to clean the room when you leave, even with the door sign that the room is available for cleaning.

Bad: - after a meal, the customers leave their plate in front of their door in the corridor side and sometimes it is picked up only 24hours later. Smells horrible, very disgusting. - even the water from the minibar is not free, what kind of cheap hotel does that especially that you cannot drink from the tap water - the two elevators are not synchronised so it takes ages for it to arrive at the level.

I had a good experience. The only thing missing was a coffee maker in the room. Since we were on quarantine it would avoid direct contacts and make it easier on both sides. On check in, i requested a upper level room towards either side with sun exposure. Since i was there booked by my employer i noticed they seem to leave the better rooms for private costumers. So i had to ask to switch rooms because mine were faced to the wall and with a smaller balcony. My stay was for 6 days all paid by the company, so we should get the best rooms because we are guaranteing bussiness for Mercury.

Excellent customer service. Reception desk, Valeria was very helpful always and excellent service from Marcelo, he was very attentive and always smiling and making sure we were happy! The hotel manager, Bruno, also very kind and trying his best to make our stay the best!

This Hotel is wonderful and it is mainly down to the Reception staff. Everyone is helpful individually but Marcello is particularly Outstanding! He helped me with many things that enhanced my stay and was able to recommend places and how to get to get to them. He is wonderful and his Team are lovely.He also suggested good things to do during Carnival! I was going to move to a Hotel in Copacabana midweek but due to his kindness and the Hotel I stayed. Friendly and helpfull staff. Clean rooms and commen areas. Nice view from the balcony. Also liked it very much that there was a wooden floor in the rooms. But, sometimes we had to wait a long time for the elevator to come (longest time was 15 minutes). Breakfast was good, but had little variation. It was more or less the same everyday.

The facilities are old and have a lack of renovation and good care. Air conditioning system was not working and I had to call reception that did not answer, I had to go down to request the repair. Breakfast also leaves a lot to be desired for a Mercure standard and the price they charge.

Good location for Metro and extensive bus routes. Very passable local restaurants and bars near by. A swimming beach was a 15 minute walk or bus ride. Hotel staff always very helpful and their English was far better than my Portuguese. Room (702) was spacious but could do with an electric kettle for tea making instead of room service having to run up and down with flasks of hot water. All in all a pleasant stay at an acceptable price.

Great Team. All personnel have genuine smiles and greet you warmly from the parking area to the reception. Room 901 the suite is big and spacious. Cleaning ladies attentive. Breakfast menu needs spicing up and room service menu requires a bit more products. Area is safe at night. may restaurants and fast food chains. Botafogo beach is not fit for swimming as it is mainly a harbor for small boats. Praia de Botafogo shopping mall is nearby. Metro station and main bus station nearby. Accor booking makes rooms available even though they do not show up as available on expedia and other websites especially during carnival and new year's time. so book from there if you really need a room. Furniture needs a bit of upgrade.
