ibis Styles Brussels Louise 3 stars

It is not your standard ibis styles - this used to be a different hotel, and albeit it has been taken over by Accor Group, the traces of former décor are omnipresent. The room was rather tired, albeit very clean. The bed was good, we slept well, The breakfast was included, however, I would say it wasn't the best breakfast compared to other ibis styles hotels we've have experience staying at. All in all, if you're looking to spend a night and get going, this could be a good option. For a luxury/experience Brussels I would suggest staying elsewhere.

During the check-in we asked room facing not the noisy street (also I asked about it in advance), because we want quiet room. Lady from the reception told that all rooms in the hotel are quiet, because windows isolate rooms from noise. I asked about room facing quiet side one more time, because we always sleep with the open window, lady from the reception agreed and assured us thet we would have quiet room. When we entered the room we realised that she gave us room facing the noisy street with trams. If there were no rooms on the quiet side, why she couldn't tell us this, why she lied that we would have quiet room? Even with the closed windows in earplugs I heard noise from the street, so I slept very bad. Air-conditioning almost didn't work, I set temperature to 16, but looks like it didn't decrease the temperature at all. Usually we sleep at 18 degrees, but here we had something like 25 during the night, which is unhealthy and very hard to sleep for us. I had to wake up several times per night to open the window and air the room, but then close window due to the noise, so after night we were extremely sleepy and tired, which made our trip not really good. Also, there are not enough hot food during the breakfast. Only eggs, which we had to boil by ourselves. When we drank welcome drinks I received my wine in dirty glass.

The only good thing is location. My room and room of my colleague were dirty. Scratched walls, curtains on windows seemed to be washed for a very long time. The breakfast, on my opinion, was also quite poor. The las thing that made me sad is that I asked the lady on the reception to book me a taxi for the next morning and as it revealed next day the taxi was not ordered. The hotel immediately called another taxi, but it came 35 minutes later than it was needed initially. So in the end I was almost late on my plane.

Most things were fine. The staff were very nice and helpful. The breakfast service was a little chaotic from day to day and, like other reviewers, I do think the quality of the meats should be higher. My room was very spacious and mostly comfortable. But it should be easier to cool the room or turn off the heat. The rooms are in need of a refresh - new paint, carpets, etc. The current offering is in line with the price.
