We spent 11 nights at Novotel Karon beach and it was amazing!! The whole family thoroughly enjoyed themselves especially our three children. They loved the pools and the PS4 in the room we booked. The resort is well kept and our room is great. What made our stay even better was the staffs there. Any matters we had, they were able to resolve it quickly. The hotel is a bit of a walk for the kids to the main shops but close enough to the beach. We would definitely come back again!!

Short stay overview of service and amenities. Location was ideal with a short walk to the beach. Service staff very friendly and helpful. Especially the concierge and bellman. Front counter staff also polite and helpful. however, room was quite basic. Couch was against the wall next to TV. Not practical as cannot sit on the couch to watch TV. Toilet was extremely slippery. Shower area not properly separated from WC and sink area resulting in toilet being flooded and wet after every shower. Water pressure was very, very weak.

Great location and facilities, really close to the centre of Karon beach and just across the road to a wonderful beach. Key tips - the sea has a strong top current so stay within the life guard area, the hotel could improve the signage and information on this item. Also during the stay my wife was ill, the help from the staff to get a doctored was poor, also we had to book a taxi to take us the short distance to the clinic at a small cost but the staff didn’t go the extra mile to help or even supply a courtesy transport, it’s not the cost as it small, just the thought (the extra customer service mile) Overall we loved our stay, could walk to Kata, short drive to Patong and Phuket night market and the big Buddha So well worth the stay.

Overrall the hotel was lovely, I did find the staff struggled with the english language, so communication was not easy. Also there lacked a friendliness by staff members across the board, from cleaning staff to reception.

The hotel has many facilities and activities for family. There are three pools and across road from the beach. Staff were polite and helpful. The service is good even though we spent almost 30 mins in both check-in and check-out because some special arrangements in our rates. They were handled by different people and I needed to explain it to them. The hotel is not in the middle of the town but not too far away. We drove so not a big deal. We stayed in a suite. The cleanness is ok but furniture showed its age. There were some stain on the table and mirror. There were good spread of breakfast. Quality is average. Generally it was a good stay and recommend to family.

From a distance, the hotel is beautiful and well appointed. Unfortunately, many of the common areas are in disrepair, and in some cases pose serious safety hazards. The main pool area in particular is in dire need of repair as the tile grout in the pool has eroded to a point where nearly every tile has sharp edges (a child cut his foot open quite severely while we there). The composite decking around the perimeter of the pool is also in a state of disrepair, with several loose board and sharp metals screws protruding from numerous parts. By comparison, the rooms are well appointed and maintained. Food on the resort is good by expensive (but I suspect this is common at most hotels in the area). The location is good with access to the beach across the road which a security guard helps guests cross safely. Power was cut for one day of our stay which was more of an annoyance than anything.

A very nice resort. Positioned close to Karon Beach yet still close to Patong and other attractions. Relaxing atmosphere and great service. Always Good value. Wifi could be a bit more regular but this seems par with most other hotels

Good but needs renovation

This hotel would have been great when it was first built but it it showing its age now. The rooms are really spacious but the bed was like sleeping on a rock- two rocks pushed together with a big ridge in the middle actually. The bathroom was good with a big shower (room for 2) but for some reason no face towels are provided- odd. The pool is massive but definitely needs re-grouting on the tiles and the depth at the pool bar is a weird knee/thigh height but the day bartender makes a great mojito! Overall it was a pleasant stay.

pros - the staff is extremely well trained and nice - the facilities are very good - the location is pretty convenient - very family friendly - rooms are clean - environment friendly : there is incentive to not service the room - nice facilities (3 pools, kids room, gym) cons - crossing the street is very dangerous in front of the hotel - the squarish tiles of the pools are sharp. can cut your fingers - the breakfast is far from european standards - wifi constantly drops

Worst Front Desk Staff

Resort and Stay is wonderful. But, front beak staff need some serious hospitality lessons. They are very bad in receiving guests, their mood was constantly bad, they don’t even know how to welcome guest.

Disappointed End To Our Holiday

We stayed at the resort for 6 nights and I must admit we were very underwhelmed with this place. Our first night we complained that the sink in our room was not draining and the Plunge pool of our room one of the jets were broken and was causing a bubbling noise outside our bedroom. After 6 nights these had still not been fixed. We had a very hard uncomfortable bed to sleep on, something I don't often come across with the Accor group. The room was clean and tidy and was very spacious, pleased with this. The first morning we attended the breakfast and waited inline for around 30 minutes to get a table. Once inside and seated we found that the food had basically run out and with only one person cooking in the kitchen egg station nothing was getting out to the other areas.We managed to get a small amount of fruit, a cold tea and a piece of toast. Next morning we were asked to go downstairs to eat breakfast. Fruit plate was served for us both to share, no side plates for us to use, then a toast and pastry share plate was bought to us, again no plate to spread the butter on the bread with, yes bread because it was not cooked like toast should be. I then ordered the omelette which was delivered partially cooked. We decided to leave the breakfast and venture out to another restaurant to have breakfast and pay again. We did this for the next 3 mornings before deciding to eat breakfast again on our last morning due to time restraints. Once again, the food was terrible and we had a piece of toast and cold tea and left. We also tried to eat lunch one day, I choose a burger which was delved half an hour later and was cold in the middle and my wife chips were cold as well. Having a 50% discount card we normally dine in the hotel but on this occasion we decided it best to find other venues to din at a higher price to just eat some quality food. I also need to say that the pool on day 3 of our visit was cloudy and smelt a horrible smell. We did get straight out and did not venture in for the rest of our visit. I also want to raise the unsafe drains on the side of the plunge pool, while standing on the rocks to turn of the spa my leg went trough the last grid down to my knee depth and I tried and fell back hitting my head. I am very lucky to not sustain too much damage of than some bruising and a couple of cuts to my legs.As a positive we did visit the spa in the hotel on 3 occasions and we were wowed with this. Nat and her time were simply awesome, highly recommended.

The most good thing in the hotel is the staff were friendly and nice, the location is not so good you need to walk 15 min. To the center of Karon and it’s on the high way, the room is clean but the bed is not comfortable.

It was our 1st time at the Novotel Karon and we were pleasantly surprised. The staff a very helpful and happy to serve you. We got upgraded to a great suite with all the trimmings, beautiful soft white towels, bed turn down each night, extra water bottles, fruit bowl etc. although this hotel is not right on the beach it’s not far. It is a 15 min trip into Patong, as Karon town doesn’t really have anything to offer and there is no 7 eleven store close to the hotel. So stock up when you go to Patong

We are happy that we chose Novotel Karon Beach. The gentleman FUAD who checked us in is extremetly helpful and polite. He doesn't get tired or annoyed when we push him with a lot of questions. He gave us a room with a attched Jacuzzi and my children love it so mush that they wish to be back. The staff around is very polite and helpful too. Thank you Fuad and the team. Sometime I am just wondering why we always have good experienec with Novotel and i must delcare that it is a good and respectable brand..

Getaway trip

We had a relaxing and good getaway holiday. The hotel staffs were friendly. However, the breakfast selection and cooking were not very tasty and we had to wait for a long time for a table because there weren't enough tables for the morning crowd to have breakfast.

Nice Hotel can improve

Positives, nice property, great pools and friendly staff. Housekeeping were excellent, great help with a sick daughter. Negatives. The lobby/check in area is a busy crowded and cluttered place. We took a long time to be checked in. I pre-paid the whole trip on credit card, that credit card had been stolen and I had a new one to check in with. Reception wanted me to produce the Matercard statement showing the payment of the stay, ALTHOUGH it had been pre-paid in full months ago. Complete waste of everyones time. Plunge pool room we had booked not available the first night so they put us in another room. When trying to put the dinner tab on my room they wouldn't allow it and sent me back to reception. After a wait I was told they needed to block $500 off my credit card. Stayed in a number of Accor properties and never have they needed to block this amount and it should have been done when I checked in. The breakfast itself is good, great omelettes! The breakfast restaurant however is woefully too small for the property. Get there early to avoid the queues to get a table in the morning. This wasn't a one off, every morning there were queues to get a table.

The staff were lovely and the hotel was amazing. I certainly would return I recommend this hotel to everyone. The location was great as you were in the middle of great attractions. Food and service amazing.

Good and friendly staff especially concierge and staff helping to cross road. Fantastic spa. Toilet and shower issues immediately attended to. Good breakfast spread. Incentive of 200 bhat to go green.
