Our stay at the Harbour Rocks Hotel Sydney was among the very best we've ever experienced. We arrived on the train from the airport and weren't sure exactly where to go when we got to The Rocks. It was a hot day, and my husband sat with the luggage and a cold drink on George Street while I went up to Harrington to locate the hotel. Raphael greeted me with a huge smile and welcome when I came in. When I explained our situation and that my husband was tired, Kevin, another team member, went down with me to pull our luggage up the hill and walked up with us to be sure my husband was okay. When we came in, Maxine gave us a first-floor accessible room a short distance from the desk. These three people and other staff made our stay wonderful. They did everything possible to make us comfortable and safe, and we appreciate them so much. Our room was beautiful and we had a very happy stay. We recommend this beautiful hotel with its kind, caring and responsive team. Mahalo nut loa!

Awesome location. This was the best part of this hotel. We paid around $400 a night for a superior queen room but upon check in we were very disappointed. We were given a room on the 1st floor (technically the basement) overlooking a busy courtyard. No view as the blinds would need to be kept shut for privacy. The room had a lot of mould on the ceiling. We complained immediately and thankfully we were moved to a room on the 3rd floor with a view of the opera house. We were very appreciative to be moved. There is no way we could have or would have stayed our 6 nights in the original room. It was horrible! The new room was nice but certainly not 4 or 5 stars as advertised. Very dusty room. Quilt had no cover on it but just put between two sheets. Mattresses were comfortable so that was a positive. The breakfast was nice and the choice between the on-site Tayim restaurant or the creperie were lovely. So many lovely bars and cafes so close which is also wonderful. The staff were also helpful. I don’t like to whinge but for the price you pay, the rating of the hotel isn’t justified. Finally, if booking this hotel you will love the location but confirm the room before arrival and do not take a room on the 1st floor.

We had a very pleasant experience. The front desk was so helpful and the breakfast servers were so upbeat! Quaint it is, luxury it is not. But so not necessary in this little boutique hotel with the best location possible! Make sure you have coffee on the shared outside terrace.

We stayed at the Harbour Rocks for two nights prior to flying to Perth, and chose the hotel for its location at The Rocks, and within a couple of minutes walk of Circular Quay and the Harbour. This is a boutique hotel, full of character and in a building that appears to have been some sort or warehouse in the past. As such it is quirky but also stylish in its own way. Our room on the second floor was comfortable if a little small, and had a very small shower room. It was fine for a couple of nights but perhaps not so for a longer stay. There is no lift in the building, other than a small luggage lift, so perhaps not suitable if you have mobility problems, although it did not cause us problems. The hotel has a nice little bar on the ground floor, and the Tayim Restaurant serving Middle Eastern food. Breakfast was served there, and interestingly breakfast was primarily Middle Eastern food although it was possible to have eggs cooked but choices were limited. I personally enjoyed the Middle Eastern breakfast but my wife was not very impressed with other breakfast choices. The was a really lovely terrace hidden away overlooking small walkways at the back of the hotel and it was amazingly quiet and peaceful there and a great place to enjoy a quiet drink. The staff were really nice, friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome as guests. Overall, we enjoyed our short stay at the Harbour Rocks and its location in the historic Rocks area was perfect for exploring the area.

Great location just a short walk down to the harbour.Staff were really friendly and helpful, especially the ladies serving breakfast, which was great. Rooms were a little on the quirky side but ok. No person lift available but there is a small service lift just big enough for the suitcases so you don’t have to struggle up the stairs with them
