A most attractive building in an excellent location. The room was large, comfortable and quiet with all amenities. We were disappointed that the restaurant was closed that night because of staff problems resulting from COVID, but we will return for dinner another time.

This was our first stay at this property though we have been a many others within the group. The location was perfect for our needs and on arrival the ladies at reception were very efficient and friendly making us feel welcome. The room though not large was clean and the location assured a low noise environment.

We booked for a pre NYE stay during the period that NSW was “letting it rip” The streets of the Rocks was very quiet except where people met to eat. Due to the ongoing health emergency there restaurant and cafe had restricted hours The room was very nice and big and comfortable.

Had a lovely stay and the hotel is so close to everything. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Food was great in the restaurant as well. There is a Lovely heritage feel to the hotel and so many activities to choose from almost at the front door.

Room not what was expected

I had booked a suite with parking and requested confirmation, I received a standard email advising all about the hotel including the parking - which I was informed was across the road in a public carpark. This concerned me and that any entry and exit would have additional fees. None the less I decided on continuing with the booking. On arrival I was well served at reception and proceeded to the room on the top floor. The suite was not at a standard expected of a hotel charging over $600 a night. The toilet had a loose washer and was constantly running, the view from the Window looked directly on the adjoining property(s) roof(s) air con system, torn canvas awnings and general rubbish, and the cupboards, etc in the room were scratched and chipped. None of which I thought was at $600 per night. However, the worst part was that the shower was above the bath and at 189cm I could not stand underneath the shower. I called and explained the situation, the reception indicated that they would seek to move me to anther room. After about 20 minutes I called again and was advised by Bridget that she had difficulty finding a suite with the appropriate amenity. I was shown a superior room with a walk in shower, however it was an extremely tight shower - while not overweight I am tall and of solid build and I would not have been able to turn in the shower. I was then shown another suite which did have a walk in shower, however, it was located below street level, looking directly at an alley and next to the restaurant - none of which was conducive to a good stay. I advised Bridget that I would seek accommodation elsewhere and cancelled my accommodation. The two staff I dealt with were professional and engaging, they actually were embarrassed about the situation and how unsuitable the original suite was. it was tired, a leaky toilet a poor shower and a terrible view. While I recognise the hotel is in a heritage building, none of my concerns were with the actual building, the décor, bathrooms and general ambiance are not heritage listed. my three days in Sydney needed to be re-set with another hotel. Which I managed to do. Frankly The two rating is because the staff were extremely professional. The hotel, awful and I would not recommend it to anyone, particularly suites at the costs I had paid. As a accor member it is the worst 'five star' hotel imaginable and the company should be ashamed.

Have last minute booking for the new year holiday. Location is great, just next door to the Chadstone mall. Room is tidy and well designed. Staff are attentive and friendly. Will come back for sure.

Firstly, we were very impressed with the staff at the Harbour Rocks Hotel. They were extremely helpful, friendly and professional. They went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and enjoyment was looked after. Secondly, we absolutely loved the location and characteristics of the hotel. It has a wonderful quaint village feel, that only can be experienced in the historic Rocks area. Thirdly, we loved the hotel terrace for relaxing and having a drink. Overall, our experience exceeded our expectations and really look forward to staying there again.

Good location

Location was great. Was not aware of no lift until arrival. Not a problem for us as we were allocated a room on ground level. However the room we were given had an offensive musty damp smell. We were immediately offered a new room. After unpacking 2nd time, this room's air conditioner was leaking with a constant drip onto the bedside table. We felt awkward going to reception to report the problem but were again offered a new room without question. We were given 2 bottles of water for our troubles. The third room was comfortable but realised that night that the air conditioner's thermostat was not working properly. Fortunately the weather was mild so we decided to quietly stay put. The bed was very comfortable. We had a drink in the Hotel's Terrace Garden which is extremely pretty and has a wonderful relaxed atmosphere. Enjoyed that very much. The maitre d in Tayim's for breakfast was very pleasant each morning and accommodating. We had a lovely breakfast which was offered as a choice through this booking at The Quartier Restaurant and Bar in The Sebel Quay West. The maitre d there was delightful. His friendly manner, the breakfast choice and the elegant surrounds prompted our interest in booking at this hotel for our next upcoming stay in April. All in all the stay at The Harbour Rocks MGallery was enjoyable.

The room its self was great, however the room was extremely noisy and the service at breakfast was like I was steeping into an episode of faulty towers. Never experienced something like it. Booking at restaurant canceled at last minute due to covid capacity. Fire alarm went off after 10pm for 20 mins, breakfast options limited with all items on menu not available. Otherwise we enjoyed our night away
