We had a lovely stay. Our only criticisms would be the very small and awkward shower, and the lack of tea and coffee supplies. But we did get a lovely bottle of sparkling for our anniversary, and that was lovely, thank you.

Our weekend away was perfect loved the old building and room has lots of character

Nice enough stay, but doesn’t feel like a 5-star hotel

I have stayed at this hotel twice now, I like the unique vibe of the hotel, and it’s location in Sydney’s rocks. There is a few things that make the hotel not feel like a 5-star hotel. As a platinum member there is usually some gift provided in the room (eg, sparkling water and fruit platter, etc) but this was not provided at this hotel. I’m both rooms I have stayed in, the bathroom feels very dated, and overdue for a refresh of the fixtures and shower screens. The restaurant remains closed due to COVID, although breakfast was provided by another Accor hotel nearby (which was quite good), but since most hotels in Sydney are already operating restaurants normally now, it was unfortunate this hotel does not. I would stay here again, but due to these few minor issues I prefer to stay in other hotels (eg, Sofitel, Swissotel, Novotel) when I have longer stays in Sydney.

Best location, but also quiet, boutique feel

Had another very satisfying relaxing stay at the Harbour Rocks. Staff as normal very friendly and eager to assist with any query. Great to see the restaurant is now open from Tuesday night, do enjoy the food and service. Would hope heaters are placed in the outdoor bar area, too cold at present. Hotel great for travellers, close to Ferries and train station. Overall great stay.

Our first time at this hotel. Great location in The Rocks in a lovely old building that has been very well restored and with easy access to the rest of Sydney by public transport. Although there is no lift it is only a 3 storey hotel and there is a lift for baggage (handled by the staff). Staff are generally very friendly and efficient. The restaurant is good though not open every night. There are other restaurants nearby but Mondays can present a few problems. The breakfast is a bit of an issue as it is served in the restaurant only on weekends. The rest of the week it is the Creperie, which really does not represent a good breakfast option and is not all that efficient. There is an option to take breakfast in the Sebel Crest about 150 metres up the road - OK on a nice morning but not so great if it is raining. I presume this situation is a result in part of COVID restrictions? We had a problem with our first room which was sorted out very effectively after one night (hotel full) and from then on no issues. We would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to explore Sydney though if you have mobility issues this is probably not the hotel for you. In terms of service we received the AccorALL benefits plus a welcome bottle of wine. Unexpected and much appreciated.

I will share your comments with our team. I am sure that this feedback will serve as an encouragement to all of our staff as we strive to continuously improve the quality of our services. On the other hand, regarding your experience of our Restaurants, I am so sorry the Creperie was unable to meet your expectations. We are currently working on a solution to make our Breakfast service more efficient. Thank you again for sharing your experience, and we hope your next visit will be as pleasant as the previous one. Strategic location in the Rocks area, close to Argyle Centre and other lively attractions. Friendly staff, and we were given the room with harbour views, which was really nice. No complaints, will definitely use this hotel again.

Hello Andreas H, Thank you so much for leaving a review and detailing your experience at the Harbour Rocks Hotel. I'm glad you found the heritage and the history of our building to your liking. Yes no stairs is small price to pay to enjoy the beautiful location and Hotel. The building itself actually dates back to 1887 when it was initially built as a wool store, then later leased out as different residences before becoming an art gallery in the 1970's and finally Harbour Rocks Hotel in 1989. Many of photo's of the building prior to it becoming a hotel still line the hallways and the original brickwork, sandstone and beams can be seen throughout the hotel. Thank you for recognizing our our team, they are truly wonderful. We hope to welcome you back again in the near future.

Booked and paid six months ago asking for the same room we had on our last stay as it had a Harbour View. Arrived to be told room not available but same type of room was, one floor lower so no view and basically downgrade of room even though a platinum Accor member. Also not informed earlier that the car parking across the road does not have lift access on public holidays and you need to drag your luggage up and down four flights of stairs. They are slowly getting better after Covid but taking a bit longer than other hotels in the city.

Hi Ron1954Sydney, Firstly, I do sincerely apologise that your experience at Harbour Rocks Hotel did not meet your expectations. I do appreciate you sharing your feedback which will help us as we continually strive to improve our product and services. I have shared your feedback with the team as we strive to improve on our products, services and guest experience. We are sorry that the car park information was not informed adequately on checkout. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and I hope we can better accommodate you in the near future.

Beautifully renovated Heritage Hotel. It may not have all the mod cons of a new hotel, but it makes up for it in charm and location. Staff were all very helpful. Would definitely stay there again on our next Sydney trip

This hotel was amazing. It's central to everything, the rooms are large, comfortable and clean, the staff are friendly, and the history of the building is fascinating. And although it's in the heart of The Rocks, we didn't find the noise level too loud at night, despite a number of bars and nightclubs close by. We'd definitely stay again!

Thanks very much for taking the time to share the feedback on your recent stay MichelleM844. It was great to hear your comments on our beautiful hotel and our team ! It was also pleasing to read that you loved the design and history of the hotel. The double glazing through the hotel really assists with the street noise. Thanks again for your feedback and we look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

There are no lifts in this hotel, so straight off the bat, if you are not wanting to walk stairs, you should look elsewhere. However, the stairs are a small price to pay for this beautiful hotel set in a great location. The room we had enjoyed a partial harbour view and lovely view of the harbour bridge. We stayed with two other couples and had rooms side by side which was very handy. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the hotel itself features beautiful touches, especially photographs of the original site and it's transformation. The staff were lovely and very helpful. We ate breakfast on site and had the most incredible crepes! While there is no parking attached, there are multiple parking stations about and you can secure one of these through the hotel paying a flat rate or through the parking station site itself. We extended our stay by another night and will be back!
