Very austere

Common areas are great, the bones of the hotel are very nice - but the in-room experience was like being in a monastery. No minibar - not even a bottle of water, or even ice cubes. Nothing to eat. Instant coffee. No room service food available other than chips and chocolates. TV from the early 2000s, with a few Foxtel channels, no streaming services available. This should be a boutique hotel experience (and is priced as such) but it isn't. The likes of Adelphi, Ovolo are way ahead for the price and segment.

Even though I checked on the website to see if the restaurant was open and it stated it was. The restaurant was closed for evening meals, there is nothing available in the mini bar and there is no room service. We have stayed a few times and always enjoyed the restaurant. The breakfast was overpriced, small and also lacking in variety. Mothers day was not even acknowledged by the staff. When I phoned reception to ask about availability of food I was told I could come down to the bar and purchase some bar snacks! When i mentioned to reception that they should not advertise on the website that the restaurant was open he said they have kept it on as it might open back up. No apologies that we had booked expecting to eat at the restaurant.

Our room had a few small but noticeable problems, first one was the rain drop shower always leaked cold water onto you when you had shower with the hand held shower. 2nd the door on the fridge is faulty and it does not close correctly it was ok it I put a bottle under the door

Thoroughly enjoyed our 2 nights. Nothing was a hassle for any of the staff. Room was first rate - although could do with a bit more pressure in the shower - Great location for sports, restaurants and theatres.

Noisy pipes and poor breakfast options

We have stayed many times at the Lindrum hotel and after our recent experience, we will no longer stay at this hotel. Our room was very noisy with sound from pipes being turned off and on all night and the breakfast offering is shockingly sad. The rooms bathroom (toilet bowl at black stains) and room floor cleanliness (dirt and smudges) was questionable. The rooms rates have increased but the offering has decreased, which does not make sense to me.

Lovely lobby, bar and restaurant area as you walk into hotel. We had a new staff member who was training that couldn’t find our booking but after 5 minutes we were checked in. Our room was spacious and had everything we needed. Our room was at the back and was very quiet except for one night where the council decided to do gas work from 7pm to 5am in the morning in the lane beside and behind the hotel. The noise was so loud, a steam roller, men scraping concrete and yelling to each other started loudly at 3am. This did impact our lack of sleep for the rest of our stay. Other than this very unfortunate incident, the hotel was lovely, in a great central position to everything in melbourne CBD. Friendly attentive staff who all looked like they enjoyed working at Lindrum hotel. We will be back to give this hotel another go, hopefully without the noise next time. There is no concierge at this hotel so you need to take your own bags to your room but you do get a smaller hotel with a more homely feeling.

Clean but with outdated room facilities; road works done on the side road so it was noisy overnight

I stayed at Hotel Lindrum for one night. For a hotel with a rating of 4.5, I guess I expected too much because the hotel fell short of expectations. My hotel room is situated in a corner. It is clean but all the furniture are outdated. The fridge is working but with missing parts. The shower vent is not working so I called reception and informed them about it. At first, the receptionist told me that it is working but it is very, very slow but I was told that he will check it, the night passed but it was not even checked. What is worst is that they are doing some repairs on the side road next to the hotel so you can hear drilling. The noise really made it so uncomfortable. I will not any more book this hotel in the future. I was not happy about my stay.

When we arrived my husband asked the attendants 3 times how they were before they looked up. One particular attendant made us feel like it was a huge chore just to give us some time. Maybe being greeted with some warmth and a smile would be more appropriate. And just so you know, this was my 4th time staying at this hotel. Maybe Covid has taken away some personality from your usually enthusiastic and happy staff. Otherwise, the room and bed were very comfortable. And we love the location

I really loved my stay so much all my future travels to Melbourne for work, I have asked to be booked in at Lindrum. The room was clean, bed comfortable, I didn’t need to wear eye mask or ear plugs to sleep! It was restful and great location for access to nice places to eat out. Staff were really helpful.

Had made a special request for a room with a bath which was not accommodated upon check in. But they were able to find one and change our room but staff omitted to move some of the treats left in original room. That was a little disappointing. But a nice stay overall

I had tried to book this accommodation previously however as it was a voucher there was only one person I could speak to, who was difficult to get in contact with. On arrival, the people were very friendly however I had to remind them of all of the inclusions with the voucher despite giving them a copy of the voucher. The room was nicely presented however was quite noisy from the train and traffic Breakfast was okay despite giving the hotel notice of our dietary requirements we had to ask for a special breakfast to be made

Excellent greeting, albiet difficult to recognise what I thought the bar as reception. Water pressure in the shower totally disappointed. International roast as the coffee in the room? Breakfast menu, extremely limited and trying too hard to be cosmopolitan...... only coffee was an espresso at $5!!! Should have done the International roast. Good value on car parking having a discounted price with Wilson's..... Sofitel didn't offer that. Three days later, check my credit card and it's been charged $50 more than I expected..... better things to do with my time but had to make a phone call to find out what the extra charge was for...... Agreed to room and breakfast price..... got charged for breakfast again that was horrible that neither of us finished. More time and brain space to ensure the credit of the overcharging......

Nice hotel but no sleep

The hotel was fine as were the staff and restaurant. However there was apparently planned gas works happening in the lane alongside the hotel and right outside our room. How approval was given for planned work to be carried out overnight is beyond comprehension. I don't blame the hotel but it ruined our stay. The note in our room advising of the work was way too late for us to make other arrangements.

Unfortunately the Council that carried out the works did notify us of the hours and schedule of noise, but only on the Thursday beforehand. This was already too late for us to shift the whole of the Hotels guests to alternative accommodation. The schedule of noise was also very different to the actual noise that ensued from the works. We do understand that it was out of our hands, however it still obviously reflects on us, so we would like to take the opportunity to discuss it with you.
