The hotel located perfectly, the check in and out process is also easy, especially with app. Everything, I had asked, was prepared for our stay in the room. Extra pillows, hairdryer, etc. Everybody was very friendly, helpful and attentive to us. We had arrive late, because of the trains cancellation, there was no problem because of it, I could notify the hotel through the app. We could get to eat pizzas, even it was late. The housekeeping was perfect, we got everything we need:) Big thanks to everybody:)

Lovely hotel with nice rooms and great informal bar area. It's let down by it's slow check-in and out despite the 'no fuss' online check in and 'fast' check out promised in the emails we received.

On the face of it, Ibis looked very snazzy and modern, and for the most part, it was. However, upon being handed my room key which was wooden (very cool), it wasn't clearly explained to me how to use it. For example, using it for the lift and also to enter the building at night time when the door was locked. I did however, hear another member of staff the next day, explain to a guest a lot more clearly how and when to use it. Regarding the customer service, I had one bad and one good experience. During the evening of my first night, I approached one of your staff to ask whether your wireless phone chargers worked or if they're just for iPhone users. Your member of staff responded with "What?". This may have been down to a language barrier but it was not the way to speak to a guest. Also, the member of staff first said that the charger wasn't working and then said she didn't know how it worked and offered no further explanation. Unfortunately, I had forgotten my phone charger. The next day, I approached the incredibly well mannered and charming Shirlynn (from Alabama) for help regarding the wireless phone charger and she was able to explain that it was just for iPhones. After discovering that I had an android, Shirlynn went above and beyond by finding me a phone charger from the staff office and letting me borrow it for a short period of time. Having worked in customer service at a fairly high level, I can recognise excellent customer service and Shirlynn is a fine example of how to talk to guests. Even if Shirlynn hadn't have offered me the phone charger, my impression of her fine customer service skills, would have been the same.

Bad Stay

Shower wasn't working with hot water, I explained to the receptionist on checking out she dismissed it. Fantastic service, and I will stick to IHG and Marriott groups for our future Cambridge meetings.
