The view was exceptional! Such a well planned resort. The staff were very welcoming. Our apartment was well presented and clean. A great selection of pools offering different views. Our stay was very comfortable. Very satisfied and I will be back!!

Amazing spot right by the water. Great service and got an early check in. Apartments so close to super market and restaurants. Stylish and spacious with a large group of people. We stayed on unit with huge balcony with wallaby jumping by the rocks.

Absolute ocean front, overlooking infinity pool. Room 5103. Walking distance to ferry, restaurants, iga and buses. Will be even better when refurbished as is a little tired. Reported dryer not working to Richelle, the friendly guest service manager, so we were given a new drying rack to dry our clothes on balcony. Gym needs new equipment, which was being delivered while we were there. Glad recent management is attending to maintenance. Allocated carpark outside door to apartment. Thanks Richelle and Grand Mercure!

The apartment had good amenities that met our needs and helped make our stay comfortable. We absolutely loved the pools especially the one with the view of the Coral Sea. We were really impressed with Poli at reception who was super friendly, professional and provided exceptional service. Overall, a great location close to transport, shops and eateries.

Do NOT recommend! Staff are incredibly unprofessional and rude. Rooms themselves are old and dirty - nothing like the photos. Our bed was completely collapsed and sagged when we got in it. The slats underneath were broken, which staff would have easily seen when changing the sheets. We found chips and hairpins in the groves of the coffee table. The bathroom was dirty and the rooms smelt. We raised the issue with the older woman at front desk the next morning and she made us feel awful about it. She had so much attitude, we showed her the photos and she said ‘is that it’ she basically told us to get over it, she said the rooms were just old and she wasn’t moving us. She even named the news station who stayed there the night before (which I’m sure is a breach of confidentiality) saying they didn’t complain about the room (such a weird thing to say). The receptionist at the Mercure was absolutely awful it was the worst experience I’ve ever had and I’ve stayed in many hotels.

Regarding your concerns at reception, we want to clarify that you were asked to leave the property after being verbally abusive towards our staff. We understand that you were unhappy with the room type allocated, as you had requested a free upgrade to a three-bedroom unit, which belongs to a different unit class. While we regret that your stay was not as enjoyable as you had hoped, we do hope the rest of your time on Magnetic Island was a pleasant one.
