Food was very good but other aspects left a lot to be desired. My wife suffers in the cold and the room was freezing. The radiators could not be controlled by residents and were on a timer with no regard for the cold conditions. Eventually we got a heater. but without a stand which was set up after 10pm The service in the bar area was appalling no one around who could make a cocktail.The hotel stated they were extremely busy as they had 2 events one with 300 in a banquet area. Surely the hotel should have hired more staff to cater so that other residents like us did not suffer. When a heater came we were told we were lucky as it was colder in reception room ! Hotel needs to hire extra staff when they have major events

Excellent stay while working at Leeds Castle for a month, special mention to Steve and Nina who repeatedly went out of their way to make our stay as frictionless and enjoyable as possible. Also great hash browns.

A Christmas Party with tip top service

I attended a Christmas Party organised by Greatdays Travel but hosted at Mercure Maidstone Great Danes. I also attended a similar event last November. I took a group of 40 older peolpe to enjoy our Christmas party along with other organised groups. There were probably about 300 peolpe. I can't praise the team at Great Danes enough. We receievd the warmest welcome, nothing was too much bother for them. The lunch (a Christmas meal) was hot (how do they do that with so many peolpe to serve!) The team who served us were polite and efficient and very accommodating. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending a visit to Great Danes, especially for a party. Thank you to everyone who made the day so special for so many older people.

When I entered the room I honestly thought I was in a Ibis hotel or a converted box room. Very disappointed will not stay again.
