Centrally located hotel in need of some TLC

Speedy and efficient check in and check out. Pleasant helpful staff. Excellent breakfast with a good choice of food served in a pleasant environment. The hotel is a little 'tired' in parts and needs some remedial work doing. I stayed two nights and on the first night there was an event being held. On our return at about 10:30pm there were a few quite loud, inebriated people sitting near the entrance. Our room was on the 2nd floor and our window was just to the right of the entrance. Because our window was not double glazed or would not shut properly I could not muffle the noise from outside which went on until about 1am. I did not bring this to the attention of the reception because I felt that there was little that could be done at that point. But I think management need to be more pro-active in preventing guests who are not attending a function being affected by late night noise. The following night (Sunday) was totally different - much quieter.

I very much enjoyed my stay at Mercure Perth. It would, however, have been nice if there had been a comfortable chair in the room. I have osteoperosis and sitting up in bed exacerbates my condition.

Food from Room service was cold, went in the bin. Breakfast was just as bad food was cold. I will definitely not be staying at the Perth mercure in the future.
