First time visiting the mercure in Perth, lovely old building and what a lovely welcome on arrival from Steph. All staff on the desk spoke to us, if we were going out or returning Contacted the hotel directly before booking as my other half has mobility and breathing issues, and as there is no lift I was wondering if the mercure would be suitable. Spoke with Kerry, who made sure we had a ground floor room ( there 3 steps to get to ground floor ) so he wouldn't struggle. Restaurant is on 1st floor and there are two small flights of stairs to get to this, we were told if this was an issue they would set us a table at the bar so he wouldn't have to struggle. We tried the steps to Restaurant on first morning, and he was ok by just taking his time and using the hand rail for support. But we were pleased that Kerry went above and beyond before we had actually booked to make sure every issue would be covered. There are reviews mentioning that the hotel is tired and probably a little dated, this is correct, our room could be do with a refresh, however it was super clean, and the bed was comfortable . Personally I think these points are more important than the paint or carpets. Our booking did have breakfast, and as my other half managed to get up the stairs we were pleasantly surprised by the space in the restaurant. Well laid out, self service with breakfast items, coffee machine, toaster etc . Really enjoyed the breakfast ( and I can be fussy with places as they never seem to be hot enough) did not have that issue here. We didn't use the bar as we were out each evening at the theater, and last night on the way back I asked my other half if he did want a night cap, he declined so we went to bed, I drink Pernoid and more often than not they don't have it or don't know what it is, when we were waiting on the taxi this morning other half checking the whisky selection and then informed me the bar did have Pernoid So with such lovely warm customer service ( thank you Stephanie and Kerry ) and the bar stocking my favourite tipple, we will return

I stayed in rm 15 that could do with an update, saying that my work colleagues rooms were great complete with dressing gown and slippers. The reception staff were lovely and welcoming and the girls on the restaurant were friendly and very helpful, Sofia and Tamzin. The food was great also, I would stay again and ask for modern room.

Enjoyed a good meal in the restaurant with excellent very friendly service from Tamzin and Sofiia. Finding a place to eat in Perth is not easy and so would not normally eat in a hotel, but this was a very nice surprise that I would recommend trying out.

Just spent 5 nights at this hotel while visiting family and friends in Perth. Cannot speak highly enough about this place. A fascinating venue in itself, the warm welcome and can do approach of Chloe, Tamsin and the rest of the team made my stay. Nothing was too much trouble. Ate in Sunday evening and was very impressed by the fare. I definitely intend going back (especially if it means St Johnstone winning!). Top marks all round.

I am a heavy sleeper, but I only got 4 hrs or so sleep per night as you can hear everything single movement in the rooms around you.
