The hotel has a nice bit of character to it but sadly the rooms are tired and the hotel interior could do with a lift. The good news is staff and very friendly and professional and the food was great. Overall it’s fine for a short low cost stay.

Although this was a short stay only the one night staff were helpful and friendly, away from front of house attention is required décor is rather tired and the lack of double glazing in some rooms should be redressed, further issues was due to the attitude of other guests allowing room doors to slam shut on early morning departure pre 06:00am also the complete unauthorised inconsiderate and ignorant misuse of the limited disabled parking facility with a commercial vehicle & trailer furthermore following a request from staff to observe the disabled parking restrictions the same vehicle was then parked in the carpark entrance making it impossible for access from emergency vehicles also access and departure for other guests without considerable inconvenience. Perhaps a footnote on the guests room information notice asking guests to consider other guests with a more leisurely life style and possible parking requirements this may in some circumstances be beneficial to all.

The room was clean and comfortable. I slept really well. In the morning the breakfast team forgot to put my cooked breakfast order through and after waiting for 20 mins I realised others were being served after me. I had to leave for work so they kindly rushed some toast for me.

Could not have asked for more. From my arrival with my temperature being taken automatically to checking out next day. fantastic staff. Especially the receptionist that was on duty that evening. Can't remember her name, but she went out of her way to be helpful.

After a long drive I was welcomed to the Hotel by Steph ( the perfect front of house Lady) in Reception who explained all about the hotel and how food would be served during lockdown, the room was very good with a comfortable bed, my evening meal was served in my room as was my breakfast so no need to leave the room.

The hotel reminded me of the Cecil hotel. The downstairs looked gorgeous but the room oh me... i wouldn't be surprised if i ended up in a water tank.

The staff were polite and attentive, the only down side was the quality of the food, we had pizza and the tomato was just like tomato purée. Breakfast was left at our door but they could have knocked the door to let us know it was there. But we understand that Friday morning was maybe not the best time to be there with the ceiling in the foyer coming down.

Comfortable hotel in a converted water mill in the centre of Perth with parking. Bdrooms small but well appointed and comfortable. Large lounge bar with quiet corners and comfortable seats. The sound of water running through the old mill race was relaxing. Breakfas was more than adequate with quick friendly service.

After staying at this hotel several times over the last 12 years I am disappointed with my latest stay This hotel is going one way and it is not up. It is still a great location and an intersting , quirky building which almost makes up for a lot of the shortcomings. On this trip I was looking forward to using the restaurant at the hotel for both my nights only to find that on both nights it was unavailable , on the first night due to a private party and the second because they closed it for the night.. It would have been nice (and professional ) if I had been informed of the private party when I checked in or even a notice/sign at the check in desk instead of having to ask . This is not the first this has happened at this hotel , informing the guest ,it appears, of events at the hotel seems to be of secondary importance The staffing at the bar area also appears to be secondary as quite a few times there was no-one working the bar when I went to get a drink and on one occasion I had to wait 20 mins for someone to arrive to serve. At the last when I turned up for breakfast to see me on the way home , to find instead of the buffet that is advertised (and paid for ) . the hot buffet had been stopped and was replaced by an order to the kitchen which means portion sizes were less than generous and a wait for your breakfast , hope you are not in a hurry Due to a problem which lasted for the entire length of my stay the TV reception in the room (and most of the Hotel) was broken and had only limited(4) channels , An explanation was given but no apology !! I also note that in the last 18 mths almost all the staff appear to have changed which is never a good sign When I remember what a nice Hotel this used to be it upsets me and I hope the current management get their act together
