Since lockdown, we have had 2 weekend breaks, the one to the Midland Hotel in Morecombe, which was before the more recent restrictions, was excellent, and one to a guest house on the East coast, which was also excellent, but a little disappointing that they did not provide the afternoon tea, which was advertised as included in the cost of the stay, due to Covid. The bedroom at the Heath hotel, Bewdley was excellent, on the ground floor, with parkland views. The bed was really comfortable and the shower terrific. We were disappointed that the hotel did not provide a cooked breakfast, which meant we went to the Riverside cafe in Bewdley, sat by the river in the sunshine, and enjoyed a full English at half the price it would have cost us at the hotel. Main meals at the hotel were offered only in our room, so we ate out at the restaurants in Bewdley. Highly recommend the Little Pack Horse for Desperate Dan pie, the Pomodoro for Italian cuisine, and The Rajah for Indian food. We were looking forward to using the spa facilities at the hotel, but opted out because it just seemed too complicated with all the stringent safety measures in place. We got a very good room rate, and really enjoyed our 4 days holiday, going on the Severn Valley Steam train, and visiting Bridgnorth and Ironbridge, and walks along the river Severn. Visiting Bewdley is like stepping back in time, only the modern plague of car parking charges, blighting an otherwise idyllic visit.

Receptionist was lovely and checked us in quickly. The room was clean and very well maintained with a very large comfortable king size bed. Felt very safe at the hotel in these times of social distancing

Poor offer, too dated and ran down

Very poor offer for a 4 star hotel. Ibis does better in terms of breakfast for less money. The rooms are too dated. The bathroom has mould and the wallpaper in the bedroom is peeling off. Nothing of a 4 star I am afraid.

Stay was initially good, was just staying overnight. Booked a late checkout for up to 6pm as we planned to go to the safari during the day. Got back to the hotel around 3pm to find our stuff dumped in the reception area in clear bags with all our things on show to be told a late checkout only extends it by an hour meaning we would've had to be out the room at 12pm. I showed my email which states checkout is up to 6pm and the story changed to them overbooking the room and needing it for the next customers. Was told i could have a refund for the checkout fee but that has to go through customer services as i booked online, thats fair enough but I've emailed them a few times now and had no response. No one answering my calls either, probably won't get that refund. Won't be staying here again.

Front desk very welcoming. Room lovley for Price we paid. Does need a little tlc but for the price You can’t grumble. Would Of been 10/10 if breakfast was up and running. Pool lovley overall we had a wonderful stay and would return.

Difficultly booking rang four times to be told no availability, couldn’t book groupon deal, then available with breakfast, then breakfast not included. Checked in only to be told bar and restaurant closed, should’ve been told on booking and I would have booked somewhere else.

We were extremely disappointed with the poor standard of room. The entire hotel felt unkempt. The room had an unpleasant odour, some light bulbs weren't working, the bath tap ran hot but it was cold through the shower, the bed was uncomfortable and it didn't feel terribly clean. It was of a much lower standard than the Mercure hotel (Warwickshire Walton Hall) where we stayed the previous night and paid the same room rate.

The Hotel is in a great place for sightseeing and exploring but would not stay again due to the tired and rundown state of the building and grounds. Even with an upgrade the furniture in the room was old and tatty and curtains hanging off the rails. The room was clean and the staff were pleasant and polite but you really need to spend some money both inside and outside the hotel.

Lovely stay. Beds were extremely comfortable and shower pressure was to die for. Love a powerful shower. The only little criticism the wall by the bed and coffee machine needed a little attention but other than that I would be happy to recommend and stay in the future.

Hotel building looked tired & is clearly badly maintained - tiles off roof, leaking gutters etc. Can't imagine what an international group like Accor is thinking. Staff clearly struggling to maintain standards with leaks in rooms etc. Pools of water on window sill, curtain hanging off its hook & drainpipe noise running down bathroom wall all night. This is not a 4 star standard Accor!

Due to COVID 19 not all the facilities were in use, The Bar and Restaurant was closed. But you could get room service meals. So in effect you could eat fairly well.

Our stay was good although we had problems with the local taxi firm. The hotel is in need of modernising but we appreciate that may not be a priority with low bookings. We were also disappointed there was no cooked breakfast available.

Apart from the fact that the hotel is filthy and poorly staffed, the check in time needs to be sorted. We received a final email on Sunday 16 August stating check in time was 2.00 p.m. (but of course we could pay extra if we wanted to check in sooner! - we did not want to) - on arrival at approximately 2.30 p.m. on Wednesday 19yth August we were informed check in was 3.00 p.m.! When queried we were informed that the website had been changed the previous week! Is it beyond the capabilities of your organisation to let guests who have already booked know that there is a change? You manage to send out emails letting them know they can pay extra. The Bar and Restaurant were not open, is this a staffing issue? Most restaurants, tea rooms and pubs in the area are open and functioning very well and in a very safe manner. Frankly, in spite of the fact we have stayed at the Mercure Heath Hotel in Bewdley many times in the past, we will not be returning. The hotel needs a deep clean and the front desk needs to be manned - very poor indeed!
