Where do I start? Asked for a seaview and got a car park view instead. Was woken at 8am by machinery on the building site outside. The windows don’t close properly so that didn’t help. The mattress was covered in stains, I don’t even want to think about it. Aside from that it was uncomfortable and the pillows were like rocks. The television had 2 channels and I wasn’t able to tune anymore in. To top it off the toilet didn’t flush properly. For £140 for one night I would expect more!

We understand that you would have preferred a sea view, however the room type which was booked only looks onto the car park. We do try our best to accomodate all guest requests subjected to avalability . We do sincerely apologise for the disturbance caused by the nearby building work and appreciate how the issues with the windows would have made this even more frustrating but unfortunately these works are outwithin our control. We are particularly concerned by your comments regarding the condition of the mattress, the comfort of the bedding, the limited television channels, and the problem with the toilet. These are certainly not the standards we aim to provide, and your feedback has been shared with our housekeeping and maintenance teams so that these matters can be investigated and addressed immediately. We completely understand your disappointment, especially given the price paid for your stay, and we regret that we did not provide the experience you expected. Stayed three nights and found whole stay comfortable and pleasant Staff were very nice and friendly and made visit feel nice Only negative was no plug point at bed so if watching stuff to keep phone charge or iPad if using them

The room was very comfortable and breakfast was nice. It was a warm night so the window was open but there was some noise outside.

I would like to praise the staff here, particularly Meghan, who was exceptionally helpful and provided great service throughout my stay. However, the hotel's hardware is severely lacking. As a Mercure property, having no 24-hour dining available on-site and no refrigerator in the room is completely below expected standards. This combination makes it incredibly inconvenient for travelers who need basic food storage. Great staff like Meghan deserve better infrastructure to support them. Management needs to address these major deficiencies.
