Lovely stay

We had a lovely one night stay , the staff were very friendly, we had evening meal which was lovely, in the warm and comfortable dining room, very attentive staff our bedroom was lovely and warm, bathroom warm shower very easy to use, very comfortable bed and pillows, all very welcome after a long day in York city centre , breakfast the next morning was lovely, such a lot of choice, cooked or continental, will definitely stay here again as it’s perfect for the Park and Ride getting into York, bus every 10 minutes very easy

Our stay at the hotel was good, staff were great, restaurant food was very nice, but unfortunately on the Saturday evening of the 2nd December 2023 the bar area was very cold and had to sit with jumpers on so not sure if there was problems with the heating However will definitely stay there again, only short journey into york, and very cheap uber or taxi

Great staff

It was a great visit, we were well looked after. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. We were in nice room, bit dated but it was ok for us, as we were hardly inside the room. Looby was getting refurb, didnt bother us much as it was needed.

Freezing Room

Hotel was OK, restaurant food good with average prices. However the room was freezing, heating continuly switched off when vacating the room, with an average temperature of between -1 & -3 this was totally unacceptable. Reported twice and impossible to fix, manager suggested I was lying. Asked reception to check and confirmed it was switching off but still failed to fix the problem. Second visit and would have to consider seriously about staying again.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Highcliffe Manor as it was very well situated for York as we had come down from Teesside
