The communal areas of the hotel were lovely and staff were very friendly, and the rooms being dated might not have been something we’d have noticed so much had we not stayed in two other hotels that week for similar price that were significantly nicer rooms (both similar city stays).

We had a nice short break at the Mercure York. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast good. Lounge and public areas pleasant. A short walk to the park and ride for the city so well placed and quieter than a city centre hotel. Parking and access easy. The only downside was the room was tired and in need of updating, especially the wooden furniture and lighting. Otherwise would have been ten out of ten.

Staff are pleasant, helpful and friendly. Food is good and reasonable price. Decor in bedroom a little dated but everything worked perfectly and bed was very comfortable. Would have no hesitation in recommending and/or staying again.
