Lovely clean hotel. Visited after a day at Christmas markets. Staff were really helpful and friendly. Room was very clean beds were comfy. Had evening meal in restaurant which was also very good. No real complaints would definitely stay here again

Stayed at the hotel to visit the York Christmas Market. Hotel was comfortable and clean Breakfast was excellent, great variety with helpful and friendly staff Hotel receptionists were helpful and friendly and able to deal with any small queries we had. Off site gym facility was excellent, quality of the facility made up for its location Zero mobile telephone service at the hotel on 2 different networks with poor hotel Wi-Fi meant having to walk outside to use my phone to contact family and book transport into York. Waiting on staff in the evening didn’t seem to know what they were doing. Set menu was not explained explained very well. When clearing tables cutlery on used tables was replaced rather than taken off to be washed. One of the waiters didn’t even clean the table down he just reset it after the occupants had left.

Warm not hot shower

Shower only got Luke warm and there was a whirling sound, like a pump starting up for 30 seconds every hour which woke me up every time

Our room 302 had some issues which need addressing. Th shower screen is not safe at the bottom - it moves off the wall when turned. The bedside cabinets had bare chipboard on the front edges - easy to snag clothes on. The toilet seat was quite loose. Other wise apart from delays with organisation, the stay was pleasant, the food good and the serving staff very pleasant and obliging. The location was very easy to find.
