Our stay coincided with the shut down of all pubs and resteraunts on the Friday evening. The staff were obviously shaken by the news but continued in a proffesional and friendly manor and we were so reassured by them. The hotel had barely ten guests staying but still there was a nice atmosphere. Food was fantastic and service faultless. You should be very proud of the staff here!

The room was nice, the hotel was clean and staff friendly. Bar poorly staffed in evening and it felt like we were asking too much for them to just get simple things like crisps. But food was good, I would stay again.

We had a night here bought as a present for my husband as a birthday present . We had a lovely time here, the room was very nice, the bed was very comfy ; the reception staff were lovely and friendly. We had a meal in the restaurant and it was absolutely delicious, included was a fab breakfast which finished off our stay perfectly x

No complaints at all. All staff are well mannered and helpful. Hotel is very clean and looked well maintained. Only thing I could pick up on is the slightly dated decor but that obviously didn’t affect our stay

the party I was with all enjoyed their stay, the breakfast was very nice, the room was lovely. The receptionist was really helpful in sorting out a taxi to get into York. We hall had a lovely stay.

Our suite was perfect with lots of room and a very comfortable four poster bed. The heating was easily controlled and the coffee machine, bottled water etc an added bonus. We stayed in the old part of the hotel with its period detail and grand staircases which added to the atmosphere. Ideal for a two-night break. Just wish we could have stayed longer....

We stayed two nights and enjoyed the breakfast and dinners, it was however disappointing that there was no hot water on our second evening and morning, it is not the time of year for a cold shower!

No hot water on the Friday evening and again on the Saturday morning reported on the Friday but not resolved. Pre-paid for 3 course meal but only received 2 course and was required to pay £14.94 supplement. Very mixed on service levels

Nice welcome from reception team. Laura dealt with us very professionally as I had forgotten a promotional voucher but she had a solution which worked well. Had to wait at the bar someties as there was no way of letting staff know you were there but not a major issue. Dined in the retaurant. Excellent service there and the food was superb. Breakfast the following day was also excellent. Would recommend this hotel as a great place for visiting York as Park & Ride was also close by to get to the city.

We arrived Saturday at 2pm with no staff on the reception and a phone number to call to get someone to come and book you in. Is this a bed and breakfast or a four star hotel? However staff were helpful and friendly when you could find them. Room was comfortable and warm although the TV could have been raised a little more so you could watch it while in bed. We did not have dinner, only breakfast which was very good and plenty of it. We chose to walk to the Park and Ride to get into York on Saturday afternoon as suggested by the receptionist but trying to cross the road outside of the hotel is an absolute danger with fast moving traffic on the A19. The return was even more problematic. On seconds thoughts a taxi would have been a better idea.
