Poor Quality breakfast ingredients

Hotel was ok but what really jet it down was the food. I should have been warned the night before when I saw a couple send a bar meal back. Anyway for breakfast there was bacon with no taste, cheap sausages. poor quality black pudding and hash browns which look cheap and nasty, have no flavour and look like they’d been sourced from a pound shop. For £12 a head in the hotel your better off going to the pub 400 yards down the road. The toast and coffee and eggs were quite nice. Otherwise very disappointing. I’ve stayed in other Mercure’s before and breakfast then was far superior, standards have dropped.

The staff at the hotel are outstanding. On arrival we were greeted courteously and advised our room would be ready shortly. The room was clean and had everything for a comfortable stay. The bed was very comfortable and the bedding good quality, plenty of pillows . 2 comfortable chairs and a table in front of the window to view lovely extensive gardens and car park. The bathroom is a little dated and would benefit from a refurbishment but everything worked OK just a little jaded in places. The breakfast was beautiful. All self service but staff on hand to clear tables etc., The ingredients were all good quality and well cooked and very fresh. We had an evening meal included there was a decent choice and we both really enjoyed our meals which were well presented and delicious. The service was excellent Drinks were a little pricey but to be expected in a hotel. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay which was enhanced by the staff's eagerness to please.

Good location. Friendly and helpful staff. We had a light bite meal which was nice but the room was a little tired. The cold water was barely more than a dribble and the pillows were very uncomfortable.

Great stay - food was perfect, value for money, location, greenery. Only comment would be the heat of the bedroom, made sleeping hard.

We had a great time staying at this hotel for 3 nights, so convenient being near the park and ride, the rooms were a good size and had good amenities. Breakfast which was included in my booking rate was superb. I would definitely return to this hotel. We had a slight issue with the bathroom shower leaking and a few other problems in the bathroom but staff were very pleasant when this was explained to them and it didn’t warrant moving rooms in the short time that we were there.
