I was surprised by the amount of guests moving around the dining room without masks. When pointed out to reception I was told that there was enough room in the dining room to merit not wearing masks. I pointed out to him that I thought it was a legal requirement to ware masks in restaurants when moving around. Except for that my stay was fine. The restaurant staff coped really well with the amount of visitors at breakfast.

great location on princes street near waverley station and with great views of the gardens and castle. Beds were very comfy but rooms are a little tired in terms of decor. Breakfast was very good - plenty of variety and good quality hot food. I also enjoyed dinner in the restaurant and found there were members of staff who were really keen to help.
Tired hotel - not clean

The hotel is a a good location and may this is why it is so expensive and has been overused. The carpets are well worn and there is an overriding small of deep fried food. The hotel was booked last minute and the ate equated to a five staff rather the the two stars experienced.
