My stay at this property was lovely with a few areas for improvement. On the one hand, my request for a room on a high floor, away from the elevator with a view was accommodated and the view of the castle and royal mile was amazing. On the other, I had a package shipped to the hotel that they were unable to locate without my having to remind them several times to look for it. Breakfast was delicious. The rooms are not air conditioned which was a bit of a shock considering this hotel is positioned as being upscale. The room was very hot at night and we had to prop open the terrace door.

- not very clean (hairs from other persons; stains on bedsheets) - although ordered evening bevore: no take away breakfast - mainly very nice staff

THE HOTEL NEEDS A RESTORATION ,IT IS TOO OLD ,THE STUFF IS VERY KIND AND HELPFUL THE LOCATION IS IDEAL .

The Mercure Edinburgh was lovely. The location was fantastic, the staff professional and the food in the restaurant was delicious. Only downside was lack of airconditioning but the staff kindly provided fans to each of our rooms.
