Perfect Location

The location is perfect and the view from room is very good. Can even hear the bag pipers buskers which adds to the mood. I had so many daily trips to the old town and all in a matter of leisure walks. The dinner at hotel is also very good. If a casual meal is preferred, M&S food hall is right beside the hotel. Hotel is just renovated so everything is new. But wifi is nearly non existent which is a big issue. Would stay in this hotel again if I visit again.

Poor availability

We were initially put into an accessible room, even though we did not book one, the receptionist said we had. When I showed them our booking, which was a flexible rate bed and breakfast king room with castle view, they insisted we had booked an accessible room. THEN, we were told the floor that we were to stay in are all under construction and so we were put into a very small room with extremely limited space. Very disappointed in this hotel. The only redeeming feature was the view.

Returning guest to the Mercure Room with the view of Princes Street gardens is my favourite and Kim and Anna at reception made sure I wasn't disappointed. The location is perfect for a city break. 5 mins from the railway station, and bus and tram access directly outside. The standard of rooms has remained high during all my stays here. The unpredictable Scottish weather kept us inside the hotel for longer than expected, but Andre, Lisa and Anna of the restaurant staff made sure we were well catered for. I believe the Mercure offers the best value for a city centre hotel, and I will keep returning if the rates and standard remain the same.

Dear Jim. Thank you for your kind review. We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed your stay and that Kim and Anna at reception ensured you had a room with a view of Princes Street Gardens. It is great to know our location and the high standard of our rooms met your expectations once again. We are glad Andre, Lisa, and Anna in the restaurant made your stay enjoyable despite the unpredictable Scottish weather. I will certainly pass on your comments to the team to let them know what a great job they are doing. We appreciate your loyalty and look forward to welcoming you back, ensuring the same high standards and value. Kind regards.

The room is very tiny although there is a balcony with a lovely View. Bathroom very small and awkward. The breakfast is good and location is also good but with a tough acess.

Dear eliana p., Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your recognition of our well-located hotel, although our prime location does come with accessibility challenges. Unfortunately, Princes Street is limited to buses and taxis only; however, it is possible to drop off bags just around the corner on South St. David's Street. Being in the city centre hotel, space is indeed at a premium. We are pleased that you enjoyed the lovely view from your balcony. We apologise for any inconvenience you encountered with the facilities. Your compliments on our breakfast and location are appreciated, despite the challenges with access. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us. We look forward to welcoming you back for an improved experience. Kindregards,
