Great location however a very dated and disappointing bathroom

The bathroom within the room is not to the standard expected from a Mercure hotel. More appropriate for a low cost B&B. Front of house was excellent in customer relations.

The stay was ok. Appreciate it’s a city centre hotel but at £135 per night I expected a bit more. Booked a std twin - safe not working, phone not working, no plug in bathroom sink. Reception were busy so spoke to a staff member who was working with some wedding guests who basically said tough, some safes not working and that the hotel was full. Few other minor issues found so went back to reception. The man was really helpful and apologetic and moved us. Same std of room, bit dated and tired, but everything worked and it did the job. Advertised 24 hour bar so when we returned after a 60th celebration at a local restaurant, we couldn’t get a drink - was told one member of staff at wedding and no-one to serve. Eventually got one drink but only when some wedding guests arrived upstairs. We spoke to ‘duty manager?’ On the phone who was unhelpful and dismissive and we basically got another ‘tough’ . We were really disappointed as we had organised the 60th and encouraged 4 x couples to stay. Overall I probably wouldn’t stay at this hotel again.

When I arrived I was met by a very friendly member of staff who gave me all the information I needed and was very helpful. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. The following day I wasn't heading home until later in the evening and was able to safely leave my bags with the hotel until I was ready to pick them up.

Was very pleasant. I thought the hotel was very attractive and had nice staff.I didn’t have the pleasure of eating here but have had a drink here recently and thought it was fine. The room was spacious and had really everything I needed.

Positives: front desk staff very helpful and friendly; central location; housekeeping does a great job. Negatives: water from tap not drinking water (incredible in this day and age); room far smaller than it appeared in the website photos; decor dated.

Helpful and Friendly staff. Room very comfortable, lovely & clean. Tea coffee & kettle provided in room but unfortunately no water available for kettle. sign in bathroom above cold tap says "Not Drinking Water" Would have been nice to have been issued bottled water at Reception on arrival. Excellent selection at breakfast. Enjoyed the Family Wedding Reception held at the Hotel. Once again thank you for a nice stay.

Hideous, you knowingly lie about parking costs and speaking to the staff is like talking to a wall. We've been charged £50 for parking and you've shifted blame to Hozah. Your hotel uses Hozah therefore you have a responsibility to help. Room tiny, overheated, noisy and rough.

This is the first hotel I have visited in the UK with a sign in the bathroom warning me that the water was not safe to drink! On enquiring, I was offered a supply of water in jugs and reccomended to boil any tap water in the provided kettle! The hotel was pleasant if a little dates]d and in need of a bit of loving care, again in the bathroom where the grouting was somewhat broken. However, as usual, a pleasant experience in a very pleasant city. I recommend the refurbished Burrell Collection

We stayed here for a night for our Christmas night out which was also held at this hotel. The entire hotel needs a refit, the rooms and the suite are in dire need of upgrades as they are grubby and shabby looking. This was our first time staying at a Mercure over the Ibis hotels and honestly the Ibis Styles in Glasgow was far superior in price, size of the room and decor. I thought The Mercure as supposed to be more luxury than the Ibis but it was not. Other than that I would like to commend the staff at the hotel/who worked the party night as they were all wonderful and super friendly! Always good when you can have a laugh with the staff. The two security guards on shift during the party were also a good laugh. The food at the Christmas party was actually really good, normally at other venues they feel mass produced and microwaved but here they were much better quality. I would also like to thank the staff for being very good to our guests who had food related allergies and made sure they never missed out. Our party of 28 people all very much enjoyed the Christmas night out and also commended the staff but for those who stayed all agreed that the decor and quality of the rooms were poor.

Your feedback regarding the quality and attentive service you and your colleague received for the Christmas Night out from team is much appreciated and it will take great pleasure in sharing your compliments with my colleagues throughout the hotel esepcailly kitchen team for the lovely food you enjoyed and team who looked after you during the party night However, We are concerned to read that you left feeling underwhelmed with certain aspects of your stay especially with rooms and staying whole needs a refit. Our reception, public area and restaurant is already has uplift and just this week we have changed the carperts in all the rooms.We are currently through transition period of soft refurbishment and due to COVID and supply chain management- we are unable to complete full soft refurbishment of the rooms and hotel currently, which we aim to finish this in the first 3 months of the year if no more issue arise due to pandemic.
