Good welcome at reception and from then on nothing was a problem. Room not too big but clean and all we needed for a break.Great location close to shops and restaurants and food we had was good. All staff from front desk,restaurant and cleaning were helpful and friendly. Look forward to return visit.

Noisy location

There is a lot of noise at night and early in the morning from the pubs/clubs around the back. Breakfast isn't great if you have multiple allergies. The decor is tired and gaining access to the hotel once the front doors are locked is difficult as the doorbell doesn't work.

An ok stay at the Mercure, staff being the highlight.

Stayed for one night, wasn’t informed as to the parking process on arrival, first room tiny , then was changed at my request, second room an improvement. Breakfast ok, my wife was given her breakfast on a small plate and both our bacon rashers were inedible. I found out about the private parking arrangement on departure, Emma was a great help and overall the staff were excellent. I’ve been staying at the Ramada/Mercure for over 20 years, the hotel is tired, was slightly disappointed at my stay however the staff team were great.
