We have stayed here before so knew what to expect. Shame staff on front desk are not trained properly. We had to ask about 3/4 times over a one night stay for our keys to be activated. Asked if we could move but was told only sea view left and we’d have to pay an extra £40 For that on top of our room cost we could have stayed at the grand along the road Only good thing to say is the location is great but won’t be back again

Stayed in room with sea view and balcony which was beautiful. Lovely friendly helpful staff. Hotel very clean and most importantly adhered to COVID-19 regulations. Would definitely visit again

We checked in which was pleasant enough but our room was dreadful the windows were frosted out so when I opened them I realised why they were filthy with pigeon mess there was a down pipe constantly running leaking water & a brick wall. The room was small & dark even with the lights on. My husband complained & we were moved without to much fuss. The staff were nice enough but the room that we were given were not satisfactory for a 4 star hotel.

Very pleasant. As we stayed 3 nights it would have been better to have had a good supply of tea/coffee/milk in our room rather than having to keep disturbing reception, which was awkward although their response was always good. Reception staff were friendly and helpful apart from one non English lady who was professional but not very friendly.

The hotel was well located on the beach front, the facilities in the hotel were closed due to Covid so no restaurant facilities, breakfast was a grab bag so this should be reflected in the price and made known as I was expecting a full English. The other disappointment was our room it was most deafintly not a premium room the en suite facilities were very dated and our room was basic we enjoyed our break but I wouldn’t return to the hotel as it was off poor standards

Hotel well located with elegant features downstairs but very difficult to access the room as a disabled guest, also disappointing to need to use the back door via a side street.

Hotel was in a great location but despite this, way too over priced. I booked here specifically because they had their own car park but this was full and we had to find an alternative. We were given an 'upgraded' room but all this consisted of was a coffee machine. Reception was nice but rooms and corridors felt tired despite trying to look modern - very different from the advertised pictures. Overall very indifferent to this hotel, it was nothing special but I paid an extortionate price for it so very poor value for money. Regarding cover measures, there were plenty of signs and hand gel around but none of the other guests were following rules and staff did not enforce these.

We are very fortunate to have onsite parking and although limited to 40 spaces we are one of the very few hotels in Brighton to have this facility. We do all that we can to create a safe environment for our team and guests but unfortunately are not enforcement officers and we have to rely on guests to follow the rules. Many of course chose not to abide by government guidelines which has now resulted in further lock down measures. Nespresso coffee machine did not work in room 269. Insufficient tea and coffee making facilities which were not replenished during our stay for 2 days. No restaurant facility, although the Wowcher deal said "you'll tuck into a hearty full English breakfast" - instead a very sad offering of a croissant, banana, muffin (in some instances missing) and a few other bits and pieces in a brown bag were left outside the door of the room. Small rooms, insufficient sound proofing in mews rooms! Very disappointed stay!

This Hotel has a perfect setting for a seafront stay in Brighton. The staff were courteous, well mannered and friendly. During these challenging times, it is very refreshing to see that this Hotel, at least, is rising to the challenge of the restrictions because of the Corona Virus, and still managing to provide an excellent customer service whilst observing the strict Government guidelines. Happy to return to this establishment, for sure!

On arrival I noticed paint peeling and stains to the outside of the building, on entering a not very clear one way system, at reception a long wait as the sole receptionist talked on the phone, and a very average very dated room which was clean and comfortable. I was offered a bag for breakfast and a very limited room service menu for an evening meal. I’m honestly glad it was only for one night. I will never stay here again.

Disappointed that we weren't informed when we booked, nearly two months before, that the inclusive breakfast was a 'bagged continental affair'. Not great for a gluten intolerance. To also be told parking available but then be stung for £18 once parked and checking in is criminal. Such a shame that none of these things were ever brought to our attention before we arrived as we did book direct. Probably would not have been so disappointed if known these things beforehand. All about expectation management of your guests.

Not worth the £139 charges for a very small room. There was nothing ‘Privileged’ about it. Tv control didn’t work. Bathroom was good, clean that was about it. The hotel has some good interior design but it tired in places. Staff were okay but seemed to have lost their sense of moral. Being charged extra for breakfast and £18 for parking on the hotels premises is unacceptable. No excuse not to serve a hot breakfast because of Covid, I’ve seen it being done in other hotels with table service and allotted times, or even room service! It was no different than staying at a premier inn.

Good location, expected more for the money

The room was nice however there were what looked like makeup stains on the carpet and water marks on the side tables. We found that the lack of drawers and plug sockets beside the bed was frustrating. We were not told about breakfast so missed out as we only saw the bags as we were leaving the room to check out and didn’t have time to have them. Also, our COVID welcome letter suggested we should consult the room service menu in our room to order, however we didn’t have one. We asked reception for this who sent us to the bar, the bar staff said they weren’t allowed to give us a menu. The location was good and the room was nice enough but the organisation and communication between staff, and the quality of the cleaning etc wasn’t what we’d expect for the price paid.
