Staff extremely welcoming however hotel room smelt damp, doors to room slam through the night as opposed to soft close and soundproofing poor in general. Found a few hairs in bathroom and there was a bar to help you get in and out of the shower that was covered in rust, easy fix for hotel and pretty disgusting/unsafe. Booked for marathon weekend and hotels only allowed you to book two nights as opposed to one so paid a lot to stay to top it off. Had window open constantly to try air the room out from the smell. Big shame as location is good.

While I’m pleased to hear that you found our team welcoming, I apologise sincerely for the issues you encountered with the room. The damp smell, poor soundproofing, cleanliness concerns, and the condition of the shower grab bar you described are not acceptable and certainly fall short of our standards. I’m particularly concerned about your comments regarding rust in the bathroom, and this will be addressed immediately with our maintenance and housekeeping teams. I also fully understand your frustration regarding the minimum stay requirement during marathon weekend. These restrictions are applied during major city events due to demand, but I appreciate how disappointing this can feel, especially when combined with other issues during the stay. Well presented hotel. Unfortunately I don’t feel our room had been serviced properly. My daughter had adjacent room which had been. We were missing tea bags and there was some rubbish on the floor by the bin. Also a stain on the carpet. Not much shower gel in the container. Also we didn’t have any moisturiser which my daughter had. One of the windows wasn’t shut properly and there was mould on the net curtains. Also the tv appeared to be in French. Other than that the room was lovely so it was a shame that these things spoilt it.

However, I’m very sorry that the condition of your room did not meet expectations and detracted from what should have been an enjoyable stay with your daughter. The issues you mentioned — missing tea bags and amenities, rubbish by the bin, the carpet stain, low shower gel, and the lack of moisturiser — clearly indicate that the room was not serviced to our usual standard. These are matters that should have been identified and rectified prior to arrival, and I assure you they will be addressed with both our housekeeping and maintenance teams. It’s a real shame that these issues spoiled an otherwise lovely room, and I understand your frustration.
