This place is going downhill in a handcart. When we booked some time ago we asked for a room that can be accessed without stairs. This hotel has more flights of stairs than it has rooms! There is a lift for wheelchairs - at the top of a flight of 4 stairs! The first room we were offered was reached by using a lift to the floor above and walking down a dozen stairs. The room was nice enough but the ensuite bathroom was at the top of 4 more stairs. Then there was a step into the shower! We changed to a room with no inside steps but the view was atrocious. I think the room(s) above had a water leak as the roof outside our window was covered in stinky water. The hotel bar shuts at 11pm. At 10.50 a couple of residents walked in and asked for a drink and were told they were closed. It took some stern words to get what they wanted! Won't be staying in this one again.

The Mecure brand in the UK is poor .

The staff where extremely friendly but the overall experience of the hotel is poor. Having staid in 3 Mecure branded hotels owned by the Accor group I would strongly suggest they remove the Mecure Hotels from the group or risk loosing brand loyalty to Accur hotels. Look for another hotel for your stay in Brighton .

I had made the booking in advance, for 2 adults and 1 child. Upon arrival, the room wasn’t ready on time and we had to wait around 45 minutes or so. The room allocated was above the ballroom - in which there was a wedding party until midnight. So that wasn’t suitable, especially with a toddler. We were offered another room, which was difficult to access with a pushchair, didn’t lock from the inside (so our toddler could escape quite easily, the single bed was awful (we all took it in turns to try and sleep on it), as it dipped down on one side and sounded like it was about to break. Some of the sockets in the room were not fitted to the wall properly (loose) and filthy, as were the carpets - dirty and stained. There was a cupboard next to our room had heating equipment in it, unlocked and door open. Which was dangerous. On the plus side, staff tried to be helpful but couldn’t offer another room as the hotel was full. Breakfast buffet offer a decent selection and was good quality.

Great service, me and my partner wanted a getaway for a day and this hotel was perfect, the hotel staff were lovely and checked us in quickly and our hotel room was lovely perfect size for us. The hotel bar was a lovely touch as we spent some time in there all the bar service were very friendly and polite. We would definitely stay here again for our getaways.
