Secret Service Charge ... beware

Perception TripAdvisor review

Had some drinks at the Mecure. Staff very pleasant (Zoe B) but I was really disappointed when I got home (and looked at my bar receipts) to see that "Service Charge 10%" had been added on to every round of drinks I bought. The drinks were not brought to me - I went to the bar. Never told and not advertised. Very underhand and something I have never seen before. I will not be back. If I choose to tip, that's for me to decide .....

Room nice, comfortable beds and nice linen. However we booked the restaurant gor 7.30 which we confirmed at check in. The receptionist even gave us menus to look at. In our rooms on the blurb it states restaurant open every day 6pm to 9pm. When we went down they said it was closed? We are 3 pensioners, they said we could walk up the road and gind somewhere! In the end they made us a sandwich and chips. Very disappointing
