Disappointing stay and not worth the money

The room was not very clean, (lots of marks on the carpet and wall), the bed was very uncomfortable (both the mattress and pillows), the toilet was ridiculously loud when flushed (to the point it woke my partner up) and the window got stuck and required two of us to shut it when we opened it to see the view (we shouldn’t have bothered). The hotel were emailing me up until the day offering me the opportunity to upgrade for an additional fee so there were obviously other rooms. I questioned if it was possible to have a double room (I had accidentally booked a twin) but was not offered this. The lady at check in was lovely, but we had to head out promptly shortly after as we had a gig booked. When we returned at just after 11, there was no one on reception to raise any of these issues too. The next morning at check out, I raised that the stay hadn’t been great and was offered free breakfast, but I had already paid for this and had it. I wasn’t offered to be reimbursed which would have been a nice gesture given they had just offered me a free breakfast. Overall, it was disappointing and I would not return

Reception staff were lovely, friendly and extremely accommodating. Check-in and check-out were a breeze. The foyer is impressive. Sadly the room that I was allocated felt quite dated, especially the en-suite. Both room and en-suite were very clean, though. The bed wasn't the most comfortable, nor the pillows. There was around 1" gap beneath the room door which meant that I could hear every guest walking along the corridor, and the light from the corridor shone through into the room - Not ideal as I need darkness to sleep. The room was also quite cold with no way to adjust the temperature. Minor bug bear, there were no sockets accessible by the bed, so charging of devices was only possible at the other end of the room. Overall, I would say the hotel was fine, albeit I probably would not choose to stay here again with such good choice available in Brighton.

For one night stay it was very pleasant. The hotel flooring could do with some update but overall the decor was good. The lift did not work at one stage but the reception helped me with my bags up the stairs which I was pleased with as my key did not work. The bar staff was very attentive. Breakfast was good although did feel rushed.

Very friendly staff, unfortunately the bed was very uncomfortable and the pillows need replacing which lead to poor nights sleep.

noticeable stains on carpets, toilet had not been cleaned properly stains on toilet seat. Bathroom was freezing was a cold and windy day and the draft in the bathroom from ceiling fan was blowing in cold air which the towel rail did not heat enough. Windows in bedroom blowing in cold air and quite noisy.
