I travel on business at least once a month and stay at Mercure Bradford for 3 night each time usually and am more than happy with the quality of this hotel for what I need. My only very minor negatives is wifi could be a little better, but solved by downloading things onto lap top to watch, rather than rely on wifi and the room key cards seem to lose their activity at least once each time i visit, but solved by a walk to reception to activate. Other than those two minor issues, I would highly recommend Mercure Bradford.

I would say the room was ok for the money. The taps were old and so the water didn’t run freely. Also couldn’t find instructions on how to use the coffee maker. The robes are a nice touch though.

Rooms need to upgrade, breakfast is cold

The welcome, the room, the breakfast, the overall stay was probably the best to date, which given the number of times I have stayed here is a real positive. The decorations are a tad dated, that though is a minor issue.

The general ambience is of a lower class training centre. Painwork is poorly applied in public areas . The bar is sparsely furnished and unwelcoming. The room was tatty: water damage around a radiator. Missing shower controls. Sited next to a service staircase - in use at night. Commercial vehicles parked UNDER our room ( yes, under..)- one of which had a faulty alarm all night . Slip hazard at breakfast. My wife skidded on food and grease left on the floor. When reported, this was not cleaned properly , though the staff had time to stand idle and chat. No process to enter in the accident book.. Overall an experience that we will not repeat

Unable to sleep due to the bed being very uncomfortable. Very noisy and the room was not fully clean cobwebs on the light fittings dirty mark on the curtains. I was also attending a course with in the hotel and would appear that the room had not been properly cleaned each day as as there was sweets scattered around the room from our first day there and still remained on the floor 4 days later. The hairdryer was not working in the room asked reception to provide another only to be provided with another broken one. Due to this i had to cut my stay short as i had no sleep and had to commute each day completing 120 miles round trip.

Courteous staff and warm hospitality

Run down tired and in some areas dirty, needs money spent to bring back up to a decent level that reflects the room rate.

I found booking easy and I rang up to check about use of internet in the bar prior to my journey and the reception were extremely helpful. We arrived early as I needed to do some work. We were informed we could check in an hour early which was great. However toilet facilities were not great, the bar was closed and we’d hope to stay and have a drink whilst I did work. Therefore we left to find somewhere until we could check in. We have a clean and lovely family room. However the cot bed had not been placed in the room but the receptionist was very helpful and sorted it out swiftly. They didn’t have a proper mattress for the cot but their alternative was fine but this would not have been appropriate for a child under 1 years. The room was warm and clean and perfect for the family. The dining room was not advertised and we chose to actually go to a local restaurant attacked to another hotel chain. Children had free breakfast as part of the price and we had a reduced rate for booking online. The service we received was extremely friendly and accommodating as we have two children under 5 years. The breakfast was delicious and there was a range to cater for all tastes. The original building of the hotel is lovely but there is sign of wear and tear and the garden area to the front of the hotel where our children wanted to play was a hazard. Empty drinks bottles and glasses. It needed to be cleared of the rubbish. The water feature was a particularly dumping ground. A lovely large car park but lighting did not fill us with confidence for security and having to park so far away from the hotel we found it challenging with the children and bags. However you could drop off in front of the hotel to unload and then park which we started to use and this was fine as long as you had two adults with the children. Overall our stay was warm clean and in general good service. However the price was quite high for the quality beyond that. If you wanted a nice bar and to enjoy the surroundings this would not be appropriate. However as a family stay to provide us a foothold to sleep get changed and fed before going on adventures then it was fine.

Another excellent stay at Mercure Bradford Bankfield. The staff on reception are helpful and friendly. Hotel is in a good location and lots of free parking and rooms are spacious and clean. I will be booking again when I am next in the area.

The hotel is beautiful. We were made very welcome. The staff were all excellent and our room was lovely. Jame was superb and even managed to fix the radiator which was not working. We will definitely stay again.

Have stayed here before and aware its TA reviews are poor, I have always found the rooms clean and comfy for the price, even if the rest of the hotel was a little shabby.. After my last visit I will not be coming back.. After collecting keys etc, went to the room to find the toilet was broken. It would not flush and the pump ran continuedly, the radiator was on full and the thermostat control had been removed, so no way to regulate the heat! I returned to reception to ask for a change of room, to be told the hotel was full, they had no more rooms available and the issues in the room were very minor!! The receptionist had no answers to resolve the situation and appeared to be uninterested in anything apart from getting agitated by the que building behind me in the reception area. I asked to speak to senior management and was given the stock answer "Sorry no one is available" When I realised he was both uninterested and oblivious to my request for a room change. I asked for a refund to my card, which I was assured would be processed in 48 hours .5 days on, still NO refund. Thankfully after a I made a few calls the Ibis Shipley ( Same company as Mercure Bradford. Accor hotel group ) a few miles down the road were extremely welcoming and apologetic over the the way we were treated at their partner hotel and for a similar price has a wonderful evening in a much better equipped and more welcoming hotel.

I have stayed at this hotel numerous times, I know that some of the facilities are tired, the building is old. That said, on my last visit, I found a real warmth about the hotel which made me feel very welcome.
