Stayed during December in order to be close to family for visits. Perfect area close to city centre and shopping retail parks. Lovely lake close by for a nice walk. Clean and well presented hotel. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Beds were very comfortable. Food was good. Would stay definitely again.

When we arrived we had a very friendly greeting from reception staff. On entering the room it was like the tropics far to hot and stuff, we had to turn the heating off and open the window such a waste of energy which is a shame due to the high costs of electric. I had to ask for another set of towels as well as not enough towels for two guests staying. Only 4 sachets of milk by kettle not enough for two people for an overnight stay. We had an accessible room for both my parents and my sister and I. The toilet was a self flushing and if we stood in front of the sink it would flush numerous times, whilst I was washing in the morning I counted it flushed 7 times which is such a waste of water in todays climate of costing of water bills etc. the toilet would be better turned around 90 degrees to the right and this would eradicate this issue. We had lunch in the restaurant, menu's was not of a great standard or choice not everyone wants burgers, fries or the likes. The restaurant staff were very attentive. Pre dinner drinks what we read on the menu was not ready available at the bar, no Brandy, no white port, no Becks bottled beer to name a few not in stock, two flavoured gins not in stock either. A wide choice for breakfast and again staff very helpful and friendly. When attending the event we had travelled for the room was initially very cold but the all the windows were open with extra heaters placed in room. So electric being used to heat the room whilst window opened so heat was escaping again not a great use of energy! The buffet food was lovely. When I checked out in the morning I’d asked the previous night that the bill was not settled until I had checked out, I asked this as my father was settling the bill. When I checked out I was told the bill had been paid I asked if my father had paid and was told no it has gone on the card. I was not happy and I was offered a refund onto my card but that would have taken a few days. I just wish people would listen to what customers ask. For the price I paid I would have rather stayed in a travel lodge or a premier inn! Would not recommend as a place to stay. This is also based on contact with the call centre contact when trying to book.

The team at Mercure, Swansea, looked after us so well in the celebration of my Mum's life that we held there. The brasserie was perfect for the occasion, and the afternoon tea was amazing, everyone commented on how delicious it all was, how beautifully presented and the options the chef had included for vegetarian and gluten-free guests were excellent. Each member of the team was helpful, professional and really kind especially when things did not go as smoothly as planned from my side - they couldn't have been more accommodating and I'm incredibly grateful for their help in making the occasion as stress-free as possible, despite the extra effort it caused them. They made a difficult day into a positive celebration - thank you!

Booked for 2 nights to visit family. Room was OK but needs some tlc. On arrival there was only 1 hand towel. Phoned for another but the following day after Room had been cleaned there was only 1 hand towel again. The toilet roll holder was broken. Carpet was stained in areas. We have been coming here for a number of years but the rooms are looking sad.
