As on previous visits, very good. We did have issue with loo roll falling off and the automatic flush going off before finishing, but minor niggles. Breakfast was spoilt by a guest, on both mornings, talking loudly with her phone on speaker, eating and talking at the same time. Gross! On the second morning we asked a member of staff to tell her to shush.

Rooms were clean Bathroom could do with updating rust around the taps. Reception staff and serving staff were brilliant despite it being a busy night Breakfast was nice

Good in most places

2 rooms one with a dog. Website won't let you do this so you have to ring the hotel. Of our two rooms, one had complimentary bottles of water, a small bottle of wine, biscuits and dressing gown. The other room didn't and was a more basic room, despite paying the same price. The rooms were clean and we had no issues. The staff were very helpful, but it was noticeable that some items were missing from breakfast. On this basis, 8 out of 10.

Shambolic Fire Alarm

Alarm went off, instead of assembling every was in reception, poor communication and there was no key to the room to reset alarm, where were the fire wardens to take control....as an OHS professional lessons must be learnt and would suggest substantial training is required

My stay at the mercure was made so much better thanks to two individuals, Kelly and Sarah went above and beyond which made life at work much more enjoyable, the staff are friendly, kind and treat you like they have known you for years, as mentioned above Sarah was amazing, when asked for her opinion she helped me choose a great meal and I had such an enjoyable stay, would Recommend the hotel to anyone ☺️
