Was a lovely stay, but in my morning the radiator wasn't working and it was cold in the room. I had my 5 year old daughter with me. When I told reception I was told I should of said the night before and I could of changed rooms. But I didn't put the radiator until 9.30 in the morning, so I couldn't have known the night before. I was leaving at 10.30 so didn't see the point in making a complaint a hour before leaving.

I was made so welcome

From the moment I checked in, I was made to feel welcome. The staff really are delightful and cannot do enough for one - from the receptionist to the chef. The rooms are standard, motel-type but more spacious than than those of other chains - with sofa and occasional table as well as the usual appointments. The bed was very comfortable and the room warm when I arrived - having an easy-to-use heater. Sadly, my visit was during lockdown so I was unable to use the bar/lounge and restaurant (and I know from past experience how nice it is sitting in front of the fire!). Nevertheless, even alone in my room with a restricted menu, I enjoyed really nice meals - still hot and tasty. On my second evening, I asked if the chef would make me some sandwiches. Not only was he willing, he offered me a good choice and they arrived beautifully presented and complete with side salad. Furthermore, their "Eton Mess" has to be the best I have ever tasted! This is the third time I have stayed with Mercure, Swansea and I shall continue to do so each time I visit the city. It was a very short stay with me arriving in the evening and leaving early the following morning. The woman on the desk as I arrived was friendly & helpful & checked me in quickly. The sleeping & living area of my room was stylish & comfortable although there was a rip in the fabric of the bed. The bathroom was clean but looked dated. The bed was comfortable and I slept well but it was annoying that there were no plug sockets near the bed and I was diatribes a few times by the sound of people walking on the very creaky floor in the corridor. I ordered the continental breakfast which arrived on time the next morning but was disappointing. The breakfast items seemed cheap and not worth the money paid. I was in a rush to leave in the morning and checking out was a very slow process, with one member of staff arriving part way through saying ‘sorry I’m late’ so was obviously late for her shift starting.

Ok for day use, nowhere comfy to sit, very basic had to flush the toilet numerous times just to get rid of the paper, very dissapointed

I've been staying in the Mercure hotel Swansea since October 2019 it's ideally situated for my place of work, the rooms are well laid out and clean and all the staff are very helpful, breakfast and evening meals are well presented would recommend.
