Repurposed as a hotel in 1966, the Grade II listed building was originally a doctor's surgery called Hilton House. While no longer the case, guests are still treated to the finest care thanks to the hotel's swimming pool, sauna, gym and fitness studio. Situated close to the Pennines, the hotel is also a perfect base for shopaholics wanting to visit The Trafford Centre and Middlebrook Retail Park. The University of Bolton Stadium, home to the Bolton Wanderers is just 1.5 miles away.

Staff were excellent, breakfast great, hotel fine, perhaps a little tired in places. A couple of silly issues, no bath mat and a slippy bath. My wife fell and is bruised and has a cut nose. Secondary our room looked onto a flat roof, with a pile of broken decking sat just outside the window. Also a view of the rear of a wing of the hotel that looks a little out of sight out of mind.

Avoid!! Overall a very tired hotel in need of a refurbished The spa area should be closed. Absolutely disgusting. With black mould on walls needing deep clean and repair. Staff rude. Only positive was the pizza was nice in the bar. Be warned.

All the staff at the hotel were lovely and helped us throughout our stay. The decor was tired but that is okay if the hotel is comfortable. Our room was ridiculously hot, I am a cold person so never get too hot but I was so uncomfortable throughout the night. The pillow was lumpy. The mattress was rock hard. We also then had to get up and have breakfast by 9:30 which, when you stay at a hotel after a wedding was a shock. Especially when checkout isn’t until 11! We have stayed in many places and are not fussy but unfortunately we wouldn’t stay on this hotel/recommend it again which says a lot for us.
