Room was big , bathroom very dated from 70 or 80's I guess. It was super hot in the room and aircon unit did not work.

The staff were friendly enough though special mention to Joan at breakfast for being cheerful, welcoming and efficient. Breakfast itself was very reasonable under present circumstances. The room was mostly ok, with a decent shower, but no air-conditioning or fan at this time of year, and evidently centrally heated, means you chances of feeling a comfortable temperature are minimal. Sockets near the bed, thank goodness! Not all hotels have them yet for some odd reason. Bed was too hard for more than a few days' stay. Food was unimaginative and not the best value, one night I found a piece of foil cardboard, like a seal off a sauce bottle, in my burger. After the meal I brought this to the server's attention and apart from an indifferent 'sorry' I was offered no recompense. The health club has a well-equipped gym and is spacious too but the pool, like the room heating, is begging to be updated as it looks tired and grubby. Many if not most of the changing room locks were broken or non-functioning. The pool is barely recognisable from the photo, is short and an odd shape, and having been divided into lanes it was undeserving of the title 'swimming' pool. Nobody enforcing the covid rules around the jacuzzi, which was hogged by three young guys (max 2 people) the whole time I was there. Steam room was closed (why, when other hotels can open theirs?) and the sauna full with just one occupant. To cap it all the signage to the health club is atrocious and stops short of showing you the entire route so you end up traipsing through several identical corridors to find it. The booking system worked OK though as long as you started from the front page every time as the 'start over' button would raise a charge on your next booking as if you weren't a guest. I know the staff were mostly very good, doing their best and were obviously under pressure but the negatives about the building itself I have mentioned, plus the usual availability of nearer hotels to my workplace, mean I would choose to stay elsewhere in future.

Hotel gone down hill. Grubby needs a good clean. Had a cold breakfast no choice of eggs, the fried eggs had been there for hours. No toast. Left early, as glad t get out of place.

No air con, dated rooms that were too hot to sleep in.

We booked the hotel as it had a pool and was close to Harry Potter World. The reception area looks clean and modern as you walk in but we were disappointed as soon as we got to our room at the back of the hotel. It was really dated, the carpet was stained and the en-suite had not been replaced since the 80’s!! Tiles were warped and the shower was broken and the jets in the spa bath were missing which looked dirty. The iron was also dangerous as didn’t have a cap over the water part so once I had ironed clothes for the next day while putting the Iron away I got splashed with water, was lucky it wasn’t hot seeing I had just been using it. (I checked the iron in the 2nd room we went into as well and that was a the same so someone could have burnt themselves with hot water when ironing). I also hurt my leg when sitting on the bed as the hook that attaches the base together was sticking out so got a scratch and bruise. We went swimming and then for an evening meal the first night and then when we returned the room was sweltering and no air at all. The massive air conditioning unit that was in the corner of the room was broken with bits missing and we only had one small fan that was plugged in at the other side of the room to the bed. We were all really struggling to sleep and our 3 year old was red in the face and clammy it was that hot. We called and asked to be moved just after 10pm as we couldn’t sleep but they said there were no other family rooms available and so we asked for another fan and an extension lead so we could try and have some air to sleep. To add insult to injury in the morning we wanted cold showers to cool down before our day in London and Harry Potter world the shower was stuck on hot and we couldn’t change the temperature to cold so had to have a wash in the sink which wasn’t ideal. I couldn’t get ready properly as was too hot to put makeup on and we were all relieved to step into the air conditioned hallway. Thinking about it would have probably got w better nights sleep in the cool corridor. When we complained the next day and asked to move rooms the lady on reception (Linda) was great and she gave us a new room straight away. It seemed like this was a common occurrence for people in that room (435) and put us into a room that was down the corridor. The room was still hot but as we had 3 fans on the go it was a lot cooler than the night before. The bathroom was more modern (90’s) and the shower worked so a lot better. The hotel could do with a total refurb of all the rooms and bathrooms to get it up to a modern standard, the carpet in this room was stained and had iron burn marks on the carpet. We only booked the hotel due to location and it had a pool to sleep while we had a busy few days away but not being able to sleep due to the heat was insufferable especially with a young child. When I booked it said it was a 4star hotel and have stayed in other mecure hotels before that have been fine. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel due to not being able to sleep well or shower in the morning. We couldn’t fault the staff they were friendly and helpful but the accommodation itself needs improving drastically. This is the first time we’ve been away in a hotel since COVID and was left disappointed. I could have booked a travel lodge for less and had a better quality of accommodation.

Travelled down with family to go to Warner brothers studio the following day. The location for this was perfect and only a 5/10minute drive away. There was lots of available free parking at the hotel and it was easy to find sat nav took us straight there from Sheffield. Receptionist was very friendly and told us everything we needed to know on arrival, including that our friends had already arrived and would meet us in the pool. She also booked us in at the same time for brekky. Room was very clean, and a good size with everything we expected. There was only one towel in the bathroom but as we went swimming the pool attendant found us some more. Again very helpful and friendly. Pool was a great, kids loved it and i liked being able to sit in the hot tub and watch them. We were allocated a time slot due to covid and this worked really well. The changing rooms were clean and didn't smell as often pool changing rooms do. We ate in the bar, outside on the lovely patio which has some fab patio furniture. The staff were efficient and friendly. The food and drinks were not excessively priced, although the goats cheese salad was extremely small, but the fish and chips and burger option was a good size. Bed was comfy however we did need to use the room fan as it was red hot in the bed room. The breakfast the following morning was served to us at our table and I believe this was another covid measure. Plenty of hand sanitiser around the hotel. Again the lady who served us was so friendly and made sure our breakfast was exactly how we wanted it. This was a great value for money stay, the service was 5 star.

The lady on reception was absolutely amazing, so helpful, lovely and friendly. So was the lady in the bar area. The room was extremely disappointing. It was very old and dated and not what was advertised in the picture when we made the booking. The plastic on the bath was broken with bits missing, we had to be supper careful getting the children in and out the bath as they could have easily cut themselves on the sharp plastic. We had a very big broken air conditioning unit in our room, it was broken but just left in the room. A massive eye sore. We did have to go to reception a few times as we only had 2 towels (there were 4 of us) and they set the sofa bed up but only put one pillow out.

A comfortable stay with my toddler. My only issue with the stay was that my son has an allergy to dairy products and I was told vegan food was available, so I pre-ordered a breakfast. Unfortunately when we went down to breakfast, the vegan options were very limited, in fact there wasn't even a dairy free spread for our toast. In this day and age, this is very surprising.

Room was not very clean - kettle had a hair in it and TV remote was so dusty I’d to disinfect it before I used it. Handles on (single glazed) windows were broken and the hair dryer did not work. Check out time was an hour earlier than advertised.

The shower had mold on the ceilings (we took photos of this and would be more than happy to pass this on to you). This could very well be black mold and is therefore not safe at all. We also had to evacuate our rooms due to a fire alarm and was held waiting outside with little to no information (we appreciate these things happen and it is for our own safety but some communication would have been nice). I have stayed in many Mercure Hotels across the globe and they are usually great but this was by far the worst experience I have had.

I have an Accor Le Club membership although on this occasion I made the reservation via Booking .com, and this is the most disappointing Accor hotel I have used. Having visited the Harry Potter tour with our Grandchildren, We chose this hotel for the overnight stay to enable the children to use the swimming pool. I emailed via Booking.com to check on the availability of the pool, but received a reply after we had left on our journey, and on arrival at the Hotel were told that the pool was reservations only. Thanks to the pool attendant telephoning our room to say there was a no-show, the children were able to swim on Monday evening. All of the staff were exceptional which made our stay a pleasant experience. This Hotel has a tired appearance, and although these are difficult times no attempt had been made during the lock-down to freshen up the exterior decoration,

Well located, for access to London and surrounding area. Staff were very helpful. Arrangements to make the hotel COVID secure were in place, so felt comfortable in that regard. Our rooms were comfortable and very clean. We had a package which included breakfast and an evening meal, the food was delicious and service excellent from all staff. I am a platinum Club Accor member. This hotel was the grubbiest that I have ever stayed in. There was a discarded face Mask and Blooded tissue in the men’s toilet. The restaurant did not have many of the dishes on the menu, the bar did not have many of the advertised drinks. The room had a broken stand alone air conditioner and the bath was cracked. The overall standard of cleanliness was very bad. This is without a doubt the worst Accor hotel I have stayed in.

Room and hotel in general was weirdly warm. No fridge in room to keep drinks cold to cool down either and the bathroom tap didn’t go cold. Slept with windows wide open but still too warm. Very loud guests in rooms nearby through the night. No safe in room. Stain on carpet. Hard uncomfortable bed with hard pillows that were too large. Very dated and dirty property that was falling to pieces. Mould in windows of breakfast area. Just everything was a disaster.

The outside looked terrible but as you enter it was ok, thank goodness! The rooms were ok too and felt clean. However my room smelt like someone was smoking in the building! I will never return but it served the purpose for my visit. Just like to add that we by mistake went to Mecure North and the receptionist there was rather rude to us!!! Will not use Mecure hotels again to be honest, not a good impression!

We stayed here for 10 days during a complicated house move (and covid) and found the staff to be unfaillingly helpful, friendly and attentive. The hotel was clean, rooms large and the pool was the perfect temperature. We also used the office rooms to work in several times and found the broadband to be excellent.
