I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Mercure Hotel Manchester was absolutely appalling. I had made a reservation through Booking.com, and when I encountered an issue, I reached out to the hotel directly hoping for a bit of understanding or assistance. Unfortunately, what I received instead was indifference, lack of empathy, and a complete refusal to help. The staff made it abundantly clear they weren’t interested in resolving anything. I was passed around, given vague responses, and ultimately told it wasn’t their problem—despite the booking being for their hotel! They made no effort to contact Booking.com on my behalf, offer a solution, or even express a hint of courtesy. It was all shrugged off like I was just another nuisance. I understand policies and third-party platforms can complicate things, but basic customer service shouldn’t be optional. A good hotel would want to help its future guests, especially when they’re trying to clarify or fix a reservation. This experience left a really bitter taste. I will not be staying at a Mercure Hotel again, and I’ll be advising others to think twice before doing so. If you value even the slightest bit of customer support, go elsewhere.

However, as your reservation was made through a third-party platform and no contact was made with the hotel until the day after the scheduled arrival, we were unfortunately unable to waive the no-show fee in this instance. Our cancellation and no-show policies are in place in line with industry standards and are also outlined at the time of booking. While we always aim to support our guests where possible, we are limited in what we can amend without timely communication. We appreciate your comments regarding the service you received, and they will be shared with the team for reflection and improvement. We regret that this experience has led to such dissatisfaction and hope you might reconsider us in the future.

You need a pillow Menu - I had four colleagues stay with you and all of us remarked how uncomfortable the hard foam pillows are and the most important thing of a hotel stay is the quality of the bed and if the pillows are like sleeping on rocks it’s impossible to have a good night sleep most quality hotels now offer menu pillows or pillow menu which removes such annoyances. I seriously think you need to consider this or four colleagues said it would impact their decision to stay at this hotel again.

De service was goed op het internet na. Verbinding is erg slecht op de kamer. Het is vooral de aankleding van de buitenzijde hotel, bar, kamers dat een upgrade mag krijgen.

Good experience, but when we checked into the room cleaners left a can ob larger on the window ledge
