Mostly good. We had to ask for a mat to go in the bath 3 times. The 3rd request was given to Demitri in the restaurant when he enquired if everything was ok at breakfast. He also discovered that we did not have a phone. He had both issues resolved very quickly so special thanks to him. All the staff were very friendly especially in the restaurant. Abbie and Neil were especially friendly and cheerful. Overall a good stay.

The reception area was really inviting and gave a sense of luxury, but unfortunately the room and bar/restaurant area didn’t live up to that. The room could have really done with being updated. From the old secondary double glazed windows, which were full of dirt, to the threadbare carpet, the whole room felt generally unloved. It wasn’t much better in the bar/breakfast area, with stained upholstery and dirty window areas. There was one thing that made up for all of this though and that was the friendliness of the staff, all were very professional and welcoming. Would probably not choose to stay here again, there are so many other choices in Manchester, unless the rooms are updated.

Disappointing stay

Evening meal on Wednesday 22 June was an hour before being served. Thursday breakfast had no scrambled egg at 8-15 in the morning,very poor. Our room was not serviced on Thursday. We have stayed in other Mercure hotels many times,but this three day stay was a disappointment. On the positive side all the staff were courteous and helpful.
