I stayed two nights in a single premium room. The decor was grey and depressing! The TV didn't work. There were just two sachets of tea by the kettle, but i remembered in the hall there were a lot more, so I went to get some. There was a member of staff putting them all in a cupboard, and she said she was doing so because people from the rooms were taking them.[Well, they will if you don't service the rooms properly] The food for the conference I attended was the most expensive plan. It was awful. As someone who lives virtually next to an Aldi store, I am well-equipped to identify their food. We had vegetable curry made with their green curry kits, chicken drumsticks and some sort of rice. The desserts were cheap cheesecakes, and I loved the two odd slices of a different kind included. They were likely left over from someone else's plate. At the coffee breaks, they gave out Aldi's cheapest brioche rolls! This hotel deserves no stars, and on complaining, I think I deserved a partial refund for the awful room, lack of a drink and no heating. The waiting staff seemed to be people who had been recruited from anywhere and had no training. Avoid they will take your money, and you won't get any back, no matter what you experience.

Heating didn’t work in the room I was allocated. No acknowledgment of Platinum status. I had to ask for water. The room was changed for second night. Again no water provided.

I'm done with staying at this hotel. I've stayed here numerous times before because it's convenient location for business. However, the room quality is poor. If you book a large double you will end up with two single beds and a simple Ziplock top cover, which means you'll only end up sleeping on one side of the bed. You may as well book a single. The glazing is long overdue for replacement. It's filthy and even the secondary set of inner windows do not stop the awful draughts at night and certainly don't keep out any noise. The heating rarely works in the rooms. I've had to ask for portable heaters many times. The bathroom plumbing is shot to pieces. The last three times I've stayed there have been problems with the toilets not flushing properly or the cisterns continually refilling. Twice in the last few months I've had baths that have leaked and caused flooding on the floors. The first time the water ran out from under the bath and I had to use all the towels available to capture the water. My most recent stay this week, when I pulled the plug out of the bath, all the water flowed up from a drain that sits on the floor underneath the sink and bought up the most disgusting contents from that drain as it flowed up into the bathroom. I complained. I was assured that it would be fixed whilst I was out at work that day. When I return to reception they had no record of me reporting the incident. They said that they would investigate and let me know. They never did. Never an apology on the front desk. The room had not been cleaned, so that bathroom floor still had the drain contents over it. Bed not made, bathroom not cleaned, used glasses and cups not replaced, bins not emptied. All housekeeping had done was put extra towels in the room. There is no redeeming feature about this hotel. I do not recommend it as a place to stay.

We stayed from the 31st jan to 1st Feb 26 We arrived and discussed an upgrade option. The reception staff member was lovely. We were very pleasantly surprised to be upgraded complementary to a suite on the top floor. Great view and plenty of space, it was lovely. However, the rooms are dated and could really do with a splash of paint and a bit of a refurb…. The small details are the best in our opinion. Bed was comfy, shower was great! The iron was broken, which was quickly replaced & the coffee machine was leaking. To be very honest, apart from the room being dated our overall stay was very good. All the staff we came into contact with were very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was very good. So overall, very happy. Kind regards Dave & Tara W.
