Have used this hotel several times while working away from home during the lockdowns of the last year. Staff are always ready to help in any way.

Two one-night stays either side of a business trip. Very convenient location, characterful old manor house-type hotel with lovely swathe of green to the front. Rooms were spotlessly clean, bath as well as shower which I liked, beds very comfortable. Food tasty, served on time (room service only due to restrictions). And staff very friendly and helpful. I would be more than happy to go there again.

Everything was wonderful from the early check in /late checkout with no charge to the upgraded room no charge which is why I have just rebooked this hotel for the third time in 3 wks ! Very very satisfied with location (extremely beautiful, quiet, secluded) to the Privilege room upgrade and the service in general . The only reason I didn’t score it 10 is because I was 3 minutes late ordering food (was caught up on a business call) and the guy who replied to my WhatsApp (hotels method of comms during Covid which is perfectly fine) said I was too late , kitchen was shut! I asked if I could have a sandwich and it was the same reply , I then asked if there was any crisps/nuts as I hadnt eaten all day and that’s when my phone rang & as if by manic a chicken curry could be rustled up :) I have to say I was very grateful but it was just a bit painful to get there . All in all though an excellent hotel for the lone female business traveller like myself .

Stay was fine, room basic. Asked for bananas for breakfast take but didn’t get them.....no stock!

I'm glad our staff were helpful and attentive. It's something we've worked hard on and we're pleased our efforts resonated with you. I also want to thank you for your feedback and criticisms regarding the bedroom and the lack of fruit available for breakfast. We've taken your thoughts to heart and we're planning on making some internal changes based on your recommendations. Unfortunately, with regards to the fruit, our supplier brings in the freshest every couple days and on this occasion it was not bananas. If you would like to request any specific fruit on a future let us know 24 hours in advance and we would be more than happy to accommodate. Superb facility to stay, work and interview as a leadership team of small independent schools. We were very well looked after, bedrooms were very comfortable and spotless, conference rooms were superb and great setting to work in for 48 hours. Thank you.

Room awesome soze but dirty and bathroom looks like it hadn’t been updated for decades. Very very noisy at night didn’t sleep at all. Was booked for 3 nights left after just 1

The hotel was lovely, evening meal great. Breakfast poor Hotel room lovely until I wanted to go to sleep, I think the room is near a boiler or generator as the noise was awful and I saw every hour. Not good when you have to do a days work then travel 4 hrs by car home. Do not stay in room 301 (another guest moved) or 303

Receptionists nice and friendly, other staff were good to. Evening meal was very good, just felt ripped off at the price of breakfast not good quality. Need better pillows.

Stayed the night for a conference I appreciate the Covid restrictions have massively impacted the customer experience The outdoor Al fresco dining area was lovely, but it did get chilly and there were no patio heaters or blankets for guests who chose to dine outside The food was ok, just ok! In the room there were tea/coffee facilities but literally enough for a drink and only decaf was available in my room The shower didn’t work at all room 308 Expensive breakfast for what was served The conference room was well spaced, brightly lit, air conditioned, with access to the outside area, this was great. The lunch provided was terrible. I appreciate that the food needs to be quarantined etc but a bag of crisps, a chocolate bar and a can of Pepsi- with an avocado sandwich, really poor in my opinion Overall it was ok, and it was a great area for the conference but disappointing in many aspects

I had two evening meal out of my three nights stay, food was nice and brought to the room,I must say that £19 for 4 small bottles of beer was some what expensive, other than that it was a nice room / stay and will be back soon. Thanks.

It was certainly a different experience staying in these Covid days but the hotel and its staff provided a good service notwithstanding the difficulties. The meal provided within the booking was enjoyable even if it was eaten in the bedroom.
