Nice Grounds, Affordable but Dated

TripAdvisor rating 3.0/5

bethyboo2015 TripAdvisor review

Beautiful grounds and house. Large rooms, but very dated. Could be a beautiful hotel. Downside, noisy extractor fan, not enough plug sockets, expensive breakfast. Food left on trays in corridors for long periods of time, noisy creaking floorboards. Plus side, nice grounds, close to everywhere we needed, much cheaper than central Bristol.

A beautifully, quiet location, the hotel had everything we needed as well as a great breakfast for a family of four. Close to the Park & Ride with fantastic bus routes into the City. Staff were very helpful and lots of areas within the hotel to relax in. Would definitely visit again!

We stayed here for our wedding. The rooms were lovely, and the staff were excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. They really helped to make our special day perfect!

Country house hotel feel at a budget price

TripAdvisor rating 5.0/5

KathJCF Couples - TripAdvisor review

Great service in a roomy country house feeling hotel, at budget price. Very convenient for visiting the UWE or north Bristol area, or for house hunting trip like we were. The restaurant serves good pub/brasserie style food and the waiter and chefs were helpful with information about ingredients. The decor has seen better days but it's all clean, and elements like a spacious lounge and bar with views over the grounds and fields, make an overnight stay much more special than a Travelodge in the same price bracket . The only time I noticed the budget price is when I didn't find moisturiser provided in the bath rooms.

No heating or hot water on arrival and for several hours after, not helped by housekeeping leaving room window open and radiator valve closed so any residual heat was lost. On checkout there was no one to complain to. Moreover, defects identified to hotel 6mths previous had not been addressed. It would appear that the only thing being managed is the decline of this once great hotel.

Dear Robert M., Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent stay with us. We are pleased to hear that you found our location favorable. We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience that was caused by the heating issue that took place during your stay. Please know that this issue is noted and we are working on this problem to achieve a better experience for guests in the future. Additionally, we appreciate you bringing to our attention the oversight with the room window and radiator valve, and we will address this matter with our housekeeping team to ensure it does not happen again. Furthermore, it is concerning to hear that defects identified previously had not been addressed. This will be discussed with our maintenance team. It is regrettable that our Reception Team were not available at your time of checkout to discuss your concerns, once again, we apologise for this. Guest service and communication is a top priority for us nd it is disappointing that we fell short on this occasion. We sincerely apologise for the disappointment you experienced, and we hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future to demonstrate the improvements we have made. Best Wishes, Constance Taylor-Heath Reception Mercure Bristol North The Grange Hotel
