We booked a 2 night stay for the brasserie as advertised on the website, when we went down for dinner we were given a run of the mill pub menu as there was a wedding for 200 guest on the day we arrived I assumed that the kitchen staff were pre occupied and was completely understandable, but when I asked the front of house if this was the case he informed me that was the menu..?? I ordered the sirloin steak with the trimmings and black pepper sauce, the steak was uneatable just a cut full of fat needless to say to say they deducted this from my bill. We eat out away from hotel the following evening, the rest of our stay was really good rooms clean and the breakfast superb.The hotel is in a great location and the staff were very attentive.COME ON BOWDEN HALL (MERCURE) this hotel needs a brasserie as advertised on your website!!!
