Hotel is very easy to get to. Big benefit is large free car park on site and very friendly staff. Rooms are a little outdated but bed is very comfortable.

Although the hotel is slightly dated, the staff more than made up for it. Good food at both Breakfast & Evening. Rooms we kept clean and serviced daily with a large onsite carpark. Good location and good value

Stayed for 4 nights (Thurs-Sun) for an event being held at the Showground just outside of Norwich. The Mercure had plenty of parking, very friendly staff, a nice gym, great breakfast facilities open early (perfect for our early starts). The room was great; quiet and well maintained each evening when we came back to the room. Will definitely stay again.

Had a great room . Bar staff , friendly and remembered I can not eat peanuts. Had dinner in my room , very good. Reception very good . Only small point was housekeeping opening my door in the morning when I still in bed. No knock and I had not booked out. Found it desturbing and made me very uneasy.

The "Mercure hotel" was like a motel in US, far from the town center, easy access by car only (we travelled by bike). The room was not quiet (there was a ventilation system near the window) and faced a noisy avenue. The overall quality did not match that of a Mercure hotel; it was far inferior. It was better to avoid dining at the hotel, as the food is easily much better at any pub in the city. The air conditioning in the room was strictly an on/off affair—there was no way to adjust the temperature: it was either too hot (off) or too cold (on). The bedroom window provided very poor sound insulation.

The rooms were nice the staff were lovely The main let down was the food we ordered starters and main course and decided to eat in bar when food came starter and main course came together and we were a party off 3 so we had to eat the starters on our knees never have i been to a restaurant and the starters and main course came together the food was good But next day we went down for breakfast the hash browns were solid and the sausages were over cooked and the mushrooms were way too salty

Positives - The staff were excellent and dealt with any needs in a kind, friendly and speedy manner. It was amazing how quickly the bath tub filled and quality products used for soap, bed linen etc. The restaurant for both breakfast and dinner were on the good side of average. Negatives - Generally very run down, but considering the price, this was ok. Our biggest issue was the bed. After hardly any sleep for the first 2 nights of our stay, we went and bought some pillows, this only made us realise how hard the bed was. We spend 5 nights in total, and now need a holiday to recover. We did like that it was a king size bed though. We hope you find these comments useful, we really don’t like leaving negative reviews, and this is the reason we didn’t want this publicised.
