My husband and I used the hotel as a base to explore Norwich and surrounds by car. Parking was free and always available. There are no lifts and our room required stairs. We were there on a Bed and Breakfast basis; the breakfast being delivered to our room due to COVID restrictions. We knew the room would not be serviced. The breakfast was very poor - porridge (the only cereal option), fruit (no choice) and cheap muffins. If you wished to have tea or coffee with your breakfast, you had to request supplies at the front desk as only one day’s supply was in the room (we stayed for five nights).

We had a lovely stay. It was our anniversary and Stuart the manager made sure everything went well. He telephoned us and explained how all the new restrictions worked.

Bar not open , no restaurant , no cleaning services in the room during our stay.... hotel was ok but lacked services. We know COVID 19 in force but in this hotel felt like it was an excuse to have only basic staff. Plenty of other places locally to go go pub...but if local pub open why not hotel bar?! Good location

Receptionist very welcoming and helpful on arrival. Public spaces and our room very clean. COVID restrictions clear but not over the top so we felt safe not panicked. Slept very well and it was very quiet in the evening. Very good location for our purposes. The hotel building itself and some furnishings are in need of updating so we were happy with our visit despite the building rather than because of it!

We took three rooms for 4 nights post-lockdown. Pool not available, bar and restaurant closed. Breakfast was a simple selection order the previous evening and delivered to the door. Rooms not cleaned unless requested I think. We did not. Car park seemed busy but we did not hear any noise in the rooms.

We were very pleased to have a really clean and spacious room. Our experience was what I expected from the website - a good night's sleep, really helpful and welcoming staff, ideal location and access for our needs but in a dated building a bit in need of an overhaul!

My wife and I arrived on a very hot Monday 10 August 2020. In spite of the Covid-19 situation the hotel seemed to be full. Our Platinum Membership was not recognised on arrival. Our room was boiling hot, no air condition and a fan that didn't work. However, the front of hotel did whatever they could to make things right and put us into a junior suite for the second night. Room service was excellent and fast.

A brief stay during a visit to Norwich City. The hotel was very welcoming but Covid-19 restrictions meant things were less enjoyable. The hotel restaurant was closed and the only 2 restaurants nearby (a Wetherspoons and a chain steak joint) had no free tables due to government subsidised eating out. We chose to have dinner delivered to our room but it wasn't much fun eating from paper and plastic cartons and drinking a beer from a plastic cup. I'm not really sure why cutlery can be handled and washed by the hotel but not plates and glasses. A very limited breakfast (muffin / yogurt / fruit) was being offered to rooms whilst the restaurant was closed too. Still, parking was easy, the room was great and the shower excellent. The staff were great too.

Excellent staff, clean room with good bed and bedding, good car parking. The over bath shower needed some attention due to it being so old. Bar prices very high, £35 for a basic bottle of wine. The “ breakfast” was very disappointing. Best bring your own.

The room needed painting especially the skirting boards. The carpet was threadbare and there was mould in one corner of the bath. Quite expensive for the type of hotel it is. Think it is a conference venue rather than a hotel for a getaway. Have paid less and had breakfast Included, so could use a pricing review. Would recommend this for a company, but £155 for one night no meals included is a bit pricey for a couple. Can Pay for dinner or breakfast, but meals out in local area are cheaper so go to the pubs, they're not far, unless it's on company account. Staff were clearly not taking the mask wearing in communal areas seriously as most people, including staff, were walking around without one on. I'm due to have an operation and needed to get away for a whole to get psychologically ready, the wrong hotel for a relaxing time was chosen.

Tremendous staff coping well with troubled times. Really generous with their time and extremely thoughtful reception and housekeeping staff. Lack of facilities due to Covid made the distance into Norwich harder to bear but not a showstopper.

Lovely staff, very friendly and welcoming. The room was a bit dusty and didn’t seem like it was cleaned so I had to antibac/wipe the desk and tv down, also the headboard.

Al;though there were some oddities and problems with the two rooms we had (we had to move from one first morning, when the Meccano "walk-in" shower leaked about 5 mm of water onto the floor, and the second had problems with the window-locks (ground floor!), the great staff made up for things by working their socks off very cheerfully. The food was also interesting and of a largely sufficient variety, and the chef did a couple of modified dishes for us for dinner. The location was a bit strange, but once we learned how best to approach it, it worked well, and its closeness to the Airport Park-&-Ride was most useful in a city a bit alien to cars!
