Extremely dated hotel. Only positive is massive parking and no need to register vehicles on arrival. Website says has spa, gym facilities. Still not useable after 2 months. Staff helpful though, when it came to ordering non dairy milk both for room and at breakfast (nice selection)

Peter I'm sorry you found our hotel disappointing. Our pool has been closed for 4 years now and is not advertised on any of our own websites. It is not on the Mercure site, the Accor site, Booking.com or Expedia. Unfortunately old pictures continue to appear on Google which is proving difficult to control. Our gym is open and remains open. Thank you for your kind comments regarding my wonderful team and our breakfast.

MYSELF AND 41 OTHERS ATTENDED OUR ANNUAL CHRISTMAS DINNER IN THE PRESIDENTIAL SUITE OF THE MERCURE 29/11/2024 AND WAS VERY SURPRISED AT THE AMOUNT OF EFFORT THE STAFF HAD MADE TO MAKE US WELCOME AND FEEL THAT CHRISTMAS HAD ALREADY STARTED , THE TABLE DECORATIONS WERE SECOND TO NONE, HATS, MASKES AND NOT THE NORMAL CRACKERS WITH A HAT AND JOKE BUT ONES FULL OF NOVELTIES. I DID HAVE CONCERN ABOUT THE FIRST MENU WE WERE OFFERED BACK IN OCTOBER BUT I SPOKE TO JILL THE CATERING MANAGER AND SHE, WITH NO QUALMS, GAVE ME ANOTHER LIST OF ITEMS AND LET ME CHOOSE OUR OWN PREFERENCES . THE FOOD WAS VERY GOOD AND THE STAFF ALSO WERE FRIENDLY AND EFFICIENT AND COULD`NT DO ENOUGH TO MAKE SURE WE HAD A BRILLIANT EVENING

Arrived as always to a warm welcome my request of room 50 is usually booked this time room 52 also great as I have to have no noise to sleep and these rooms look out onto an empty courtyard

I expected better quality from a 4*hotel. Room more dated then shown on your website, carpets badly stained on the stairs and in the corridors. Not very nice to see boxes and other things in the reception area,made it feel quite untidy. Last but not least,I found it strange that a 4*hotel would have breakfast as a self service option and not table service. Because Breakfast items were under heaters all the time it made a lot of the items hard and crusty. On the upside the staff were very helpful,.

On arrival the receptionist was very welcoming. However, the room was cold as there was a draft coming from the window area. Once i informed the receptionist she went above and beyond to make my stay positive. I would stay again.
