We had a lovely overnight stay during half term. The handwritten welcome card and sweets gift in the room when we arrived was very touching - never had this before and all staff were really helpful and welcoming. Would stay again.

Booked what looked fab hotel with good ratings. First on arrival had to navigate huge potholes across the entry of the driveway enough to cause damage to an axle if not spotted and this can be difficult in the dark when they are full of rainwater. i had to be careful of this each time coming and gong from the hotel. The entrance door of the hotel was not sufficiently lit and clear. parking was ok but on return at night the parking spots are too narrow and not much room to maneouvre so even when a very few available it would have been impossible to get out of the car. I had to park the other side of the hotel where I felt less secure. Staff super friendly and welcoming on arrival. Was informed when enquiring about the swimming pool it was no longer in use for two years and the hotel had not been able to take off the photos of it on the internet. This was one of the reasons I chose the hotel thus disappointed. Went down rather tired looking carpet hallways and up a stair with chipped handrails and rather dirty carpet. the room was described as a studio, after searching for 20 minutes i realised there were no plugs eitherside of the bed and only one the other side of the room in a multiplugger was free to use. I had to plug a medical device in and extend the cable across the entire room thus it being a hazard at night when going to the bathroom.Because I had to look behind furniture looking for the plugs I observed it had not been cleaned for a long time (dust and spiders webs), the furniture was chipped and had stains where mugs or wet glasses had been put on it. The room felt not entirely clean and dusty, as I started to sneeze a lot. Breakast was excellent and staff friendly, helpfuyl and welcoming, although cutlery not the cleanest and I replaced mine which had stains on it from another table.
