While the staff were generally helpful, there were some exceptions. At dinner one evening, they did not serve what we ordered. At the end of the meal, they took 30 minutes to get us a bill. On other evenings, when the head waiter was working, everything went smoothly. Some staff training seems to be needed! The hotel itself seemed a bit tired. The furniture in our room was banged up and, worst of all, our toilet would not flush properly. During our 5-night stay, we complained several times but the toilet was never repaired. We had to use the public toilet in the lobby. This kind of negligence is unacceptable.

My family stayed there for a night and there was a mix up with one of our rooms. It ended up with me paying twice for 1 room. After sending emails and trying to call hotel, I was disappointed. But Today I have spoken to Mina who was absolutely brilliant and has sorted it all out and arranged refund. The staff at this hotel are excellent. We found everyone very friendly.

We were given a wedding present of a Virgin Experience, comprising a night at the hotel, along with a trip on the Spa Valley Railway. The hotel was very welcoming and very comfortable. Room was very nice. Good food.

Check in is slow and chaotic- needs 2 staff and and 2 working card machines. Suggest when you renovate that you put in some walk in showers - no bath in some rooms Not everyone is capable of climbing in the bath and out to shower. Staff at breakfast were excellent and so was the breakfast. Note there is no lift in this hotel

Stayed here for 3 nights to attend a family wedding , The room was comfortable and clean and had 2 fans which were invaluable in the heat , just wish I could have turned off the heated towel rail in the bathroom . Breakfast buffet was good with a great selection to chose from . Staff were all very helpful - only downside was my key card kept stopping working
